Louis Moinet Jules Verne...

£4,350.00 £4,500.00

The Watch

The Louis Moinet has been inspired by Captain Nemo from the Jules Verne novel “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”. Each piece on the back has a Star signifying its part of a Limited Edition. The Moon to mean this is unique and no other watch will be similarly made. The chronograph uses an indicator Start/Stop/Reset inspired by the Chadburn transmitter used in old ships and in this case Nemo's submarine. A date window sits at the 7 o’clock position.

The Dial has the signature Louis Moinet Cotes Du Jura Guilloche. The 47mm case is made of Grade 5 Titanium with a 316L Stainless Steel Bezel, the black lower part  is coated in PVD. The movement beats at 28,800 bph, finished in Cotes Du Jura. It has a 48 hour power reserve and was created in collaboration with Concepto in Switzerland. The 24mm natural rubber strap has a double folding clasp made of Grade 5 Titanium and 316L Stainless Steel.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold as a full set coming with its original Louis Moinet special box and Louis Moinet paperwork for this limited edition watch with matching numbers. The watch also comes with a brand new and unworn leather strap by Louis Moinet. This watch is from 2018 and is in very good worn condition, the watch runs great too.

Personal Note

Another unusual one that I could not say no to! I have known about Louis Moinet for a while and have wanted to experience one, this was the perfect opportunity and I can safely say I am NOT disappointed! Beautiful finishing and great design, even at it’s huge size it is still comfortable on my 6 ¾ inch wrist!

Seiko Presage Retrograde...

£720.00 £750.00

The Watch

This striking Seiko Presage has a White dial with 3 subdials incorporating Power reserve, Day of the week and Date all in retrograde format. The 6R24 is a 28,800 bph movement with hand winding and hacking features. The sophisticated styling with the tapered sword hands and tapered indices, create a dress watch that stands out in the crowd, whilst also having the ability to be paired with a brown strap for a more casual look. The use of a Sapphire Crystal instead of the usual Seiko Hardlex again shows the attention to detail this Presage range brings to Seiko.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold as a full set and comes with it’s original Seiko box and original Seiko paperwork stating the date of purchase to be August 2018. This watch is sold in pre-owned condition but is in overall great condition with minimal wear. The watch works flawlessly and operates as it should.

Personal Note

The dial on this watch is the highlight for me personally, the eggshell tone gives it a far more vintage appeal than I think they even realised it would have. That mixed with the modern look of a retrograde dial, it is a well rounded package that offers a ton for not a lot of money!

1918 Silver Movado/Talis...

£500.00 £550.00

The Watch

This beautiful piece of history is nearly 102 years old, this is officially “Antique” and it still looks incredible both on and off the wrist, best part is it's still running well too! This is an early 1918 Silver Trench watch, the enamel dial has no brand signed but the movement is signed Talis, though it is a Movado Caliber 420 which was introduced in the early 1910s! The case features both screw back and front and the watch still features its original glass crystal which is in great shape, the watch also features its original oversized onion crown and stem! It really does not get any more original than this. So much history packed into such a small object. Coming in at 36mm it is incredibly wearable still and does not look out of place on the wrist, most people cannot believe it when you tell them it is over 100 years old, to be honest I’m still amazed!

Points of Mention

This watch is sold as watch only and therefore comes with no original box or original paperwork. The watch is over 100+ years old and is officially “Antique”, it does feature signs of wear and age as to be expected. The dial is original as are the hands, the hands have been relumed, but this was done a long time ago due to the aging that has developed on them. The silver case is in great condition and had a light silver clean and polish, the movement runs great and is serviced.

Personal Note

This is one I will be enjoying and wanted to keep for longer! I truly have fallen in love with this watch and I know that as soon as it sells I will immediately regret it! But I’d be a terrible watch dealer if I kept them all...

Wyler Code R All Black

£1,650.00 £1,750.00

The Watch

Paul Wyler in 1896 formed the Wyler Company. It was known for its durable and shockproof movements and models. Paul Wyler gained seven patents for his innovations. In 1927 he invented the "Incaflex balance spring", which was resistant to impact, and in 1932 he received for this, a patent. In the 1950s they even had an advertisment showing that a drop from a plane wouldn't even stop their watches, that's bold! But their most bold stunt was in 1956 when they throw two watches from the Eiffel Tower!

In 2007 at BaselWorld Wyler Geneve was relaunched to much fanfare and true to Paul Wyler created a watch with triple protection, a shock resistant case, a crown guard and the famous Incaflex Balance. The R All Black was made from Titanium and Carbon Fibre sandwich covered in PVD. The multidimensional dial has 3 sub dials and a date wheel at 4.30 position. To continue the automobile theme they have used a natural rubber crown guard and natural rubber strap reminding the wearer of tyres. Even the chronograph pushers are shaped like pedals.

The encased ETA 2894-2 is a tried and tested 28,800 BPH automatic with 42 hour power reserve .

In 1954 Mido introduced the Powerwind Automatic which reduced the winding components from 17 to 7 a true feat of engineering. The bi-directional rotor ment less movement was needed to charge the power reserve of  41 hours, it also can be hand wound. This example has the original Radium hands, surrounded by 12,3,6,9 numerals and index pips of the same Radium. By 1955 Mido had stopped using Radium for luminescence, as did most brands.

Personal Note

When I saw this watch I had to have it, I honestly had no idea at that moment about how awesome the movement inside actually was. I was purely drawn to the watch aesthetically, little did I know it ticks MANY boxes beyond that. This will suit the seasoned collector or a complete newbie to vintage perfectly.

Movado was founded in 1881 and was called  LAI Ditescheim & Freres SA, in La Chaux-De Fonds, Switzerland. By Léopold Achille Isidore Ditesheim.  In 1905 it changed its name to Movado. The fine pencil hands add to the elegance of the watch. The Switzerland name sits proudly on the bottom, unusual as most brands abbreviated it to Swiss by this time. Personal Note

This is an example of an Investment Grade Rolex in my opinion, when it is a full set like this, in great condition like this etc… You have something that you can wear, enjoy and be looking at a healthy profit in a few years, maybe even sooner with how unpredictable the market can be sometimes.

Omega Speedmaster...

£4,000.00 £4,500.00

The Watch

As collaborations go you can’t get much better than this fine Mitsukoshi Speedmaster Professional. Omega in 2003 created 300 of these special pieces, to be sold exclusively in the prestigious 1914 Mitsukoshi Store in Tokyo. The contrast of each sub dial on the white really pops, creating a watch that makes a statement of intent. This example is a Modification of a 2013 Speedmaster, an original Mitsukoshi Dial and Handset have been fitted to give the look of the Mitsukoshi without the dizzying price tag, original hands and dial are provided too. Inside is the manually wound Cal. 1861 movement.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold as a full set and comes with original Omega Box and original Omega Paperwork, including receipt. Original dial and hands are provided, original Mitsokushi dial and hands are currently fitted to the watch, this makes this watch a “Mitsukoshi MOD”, not the original limited edition Mitsukoshi! The watch was serviced this year and runs well.

Personal Note

This gives a great opportunity for someone to buy and enjoy a Mitsukoshi without the huge price tag, sure it is not one of the original 300 but it looks brilliant and fitting! I understand not everyone is a fan of Mods, but I am of the opinion that if it is disclaimed as such it is acceptable.
