The Submariner is a master of the depths, created in 1953, it was the first divers watch to have water proofing of 100m/300ft. Today Rolex has completely smashed that achievement with creating this watch that can withstand 1000ft/300m. They have developed their very own OysterSteel which is 904L Stainless Steel more commonly used in the Aerospace and chemical industry due to its incredible resistance to corrosion. The case and bracelet once polished retains its look much longer than traditional 316L Steel. A classic black dial has the round indexes and mercedes hands made of 18ct white gold. Rolex has developed a virtually scratch proof Ceramic called Cerachrom for the Unidirectional Bezel. A crafted 20mm Oyster bracelet with an Oysterlock clasp to prevent accidental release and the genius Glidelock for micro adjustments without the need to use tools. The Cal.3135 Automatic movement is solely developed by Rolex and meets the Swiss Chronometer Certification successfully passing the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests. 31 Jewels beating at 28,800 bph with a 48 hour power reserve. It is fitted with a Parachrom mainspring which is resistant to shocks and variations in temperature. The cyclops date at 3pm, love it or hate it, it’s iconic!
Points of Mention
This watch is sold with its Rolex box and original Rolex paperwork, the guarantee is signed June 2011, though it was purchased in 2017 again from WatchFinder and went through a service with them. The watch is running well and is in good used condition, with marks in the areas you would expect like the clasp. The watch box is missing its watch cushion.
