Description

Here is a classic 2018 Schofield Signalman Bare Bones Graphite Dial, 1 of 1. A unique piece designed by Giles, taking the Signalman as its base and stripping back its elements. Inspired by the 18th and 19th-century Lighthouses found around the UK coastline. It has a 44mm stainless steel case expertly textured by vapour-blasting, shaped like the powerful lights used in a Lighthouse. The case has a 4-part patented construction of stainless steel, which explains its 15mm thickness on the outside, and a 2-part anti-magnetic movement shell with a lug-to-lug length of 52mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. The crown has two gaskets that, once locked down, give the watch water resistance. A recessed date corrector pusher lies above the screwed lugs on the right side. The sapphire crystal sits just under the bezel lip and features AR Coating for better viewing. The unique 1 of 1 Graphite bowl-shaped sterile dial features a simple colour-matched round date window at 3 o’clock recessed on the lower level. Its black-outlined signature hands are filled with Super-LumiNova, complemented by a black, red-tipped second hand. On the back, a screw-down case back features an off-centre depiction of an internal Lighthouse staircase, inside an automatic ETA Cal.2824-2 movement, 25 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour. This workhorse movement has hand winding and hacking seconds. The watch comes paired with two Schofield 24mm straps with a signed buckle, and comes with its Schofield presentation box and paperwork.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Schofield box and paperwork. The watch comes paired with two Schofield 24mm straps with a signed buckle. The watch is from Circa. 2018 and is sold in worn condition, but overall it is in fair condition, as you can see from the photos. The watch comes with our 12-Months Warranty.

Personal Note

This is a unique piece designed by Giles, taking the Signalman as its base and stripping back its elements. Featuring a 1 of 1 Graphite Dial, this Bare Bones Signalman is a delight on and off the wrist, especially with that fantastic finish to the case. At 44mm, Schofield's watches are unapologetic on the wrist, but thanks to the case design, they wear incredibly well despite the size on paper. I would always recommend booking an appointment and trying them on for yourself. You’ll be impressed!

About Schofield

Giles Ellis made a grand debut of his brand Schofield at the Salon QP event held in London back in 2011. The brand's headquarters are located in Sussex, which is a picturesque county situated on the south coast of the UK, just a short distance from Brighton. Ellis, a visionary watchmaker, has been instrumental in the revival of British watchmaking, which has gained significant momentum in recent years. His brand, Schofield, reflects his passion for traditional craftsmanship and is highly regarded for its precision, quality, and innovative designs. In the initial models, such as the Signalman GMT PR and its DLC variant, the brand established its identity with a combination of high-quality materials, reliable Swiss movements, and a touch of British flair. The Patinated Bronze Beater B3 demonstrated the brand's willingness to explore unique materials and finishes. In 2024, after maintaining the same core case design for almost 15 years, Schofield surprised the watch world with the Light. This new model represented a significant departure, featuring a smaller 40mm case size while staying true to the brand's commitment to functionality and meticulous construction. The Light offered a fresh interpretation of the classic field watch, incorporating subtle military influences and prioritising wearability. With the introduction of the Light, Schofield indicated its intention to expand its appeal while remaining steadfast to its fundamental principles. The brand continues to innovate, utilising high-grade materials and movements to produce enduring timepieces designed to endure the test of time.
