Description

Here we have a 2020 Schofield Strange Lights Not Quite Green with a 44mm Titanium case. The watch comes in two colours, Not Quite Red and this one, both of which are limited to 29 pieces. They celebrate 10 years of his watchmaking. Its industrial design adds character and uniqueness to the watch. Sloping wide screw-in lugs with a lug-to-lug length of 52.5mm and a thickness of 15mm give the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side, a deeply knurled double o-ring pull-out crown with a gold ring. A deep engraving SWC SL-1 (Schofield Watch Company Strange Lights 1) can be found on its side. A smooth bezel holds a flat sapphire crystal AR-coated in nine layers. An outer ring in green was made of a specially commissioned custom SuperLumiNova. The sector dial has an outer Not Quite Green ring with applied numeral and dagger indexes marking the hours coated in C3  SuperLumiNova. An inner minute track surrounds its paler Not Quite Green centre, providing a nice contrast. Brushed gilt-edged skeletonised sword hands have Super LumiNova tips. In the centre, the cap has a lollipop balance which they call “Sign-of-Life” second hand. At 12 o’clock, the Schofield logo. On the reverse, a screw-down case back. The intricate engraving is a stylised 1950s UFO hovering above Smeaton’s Tower in Plymouth, which also featured on Schofield's first watch, Signalman. Inside an automatic  ETA 2824-2, gold-plated and highly finished. The watch comes fitted with its 24mm Schofield light grey strap and a signed Green ceramic-coated steel buckle. Comes with its Schofield presentation box and papers.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Schofield box and paperwork. The watch comes paired on an original Schofield 24mm strap with a signed buckle. The watch is from November 2021 and is sold in worn condition, but overall it is in very fair condition, as you can see from the photos. The watch comes with our 12-Months Warranty.

Personal Note

This is the impressive Schofield Strange Lights Not Quite Green with a 44mm Titanium case. The watch comes in two colours, Not Quite Red and this one, both of which are limited to 29 pieces, and they were to celebrate 10 years of his watchmaking. This is up there as one of my favourite Schofield watches. The titanium case makes the unapologetic 44mm case wear surprisingly well, even on my smaller wrist and the dial tone and design are fantastic. If you have been considering a Schofield for your collection, this would be a great place to start!

About Schofield

Giles Ellis made a grand debut of his brand Schofield at the Salon QP event held in London back in 2011. The brand's headquarters are located in Sussex, which is a picturesque county situated on the south coast of the UK, just a short distance from Brighton. Ellis, a visionary watchmaker, has been instrumental in the revival of British watchmaking, which has gained significant momentum in recent years. His brand, Schofield, reflects his passion for traditional craftsmanship and is highly regarded for its precision, quality, and innovative designs. In the initial models, such as the Signalman GMT PR and its DLC variant, the brand established its identity with a combination of high-quality materials, reliable Swiss movements, and a touch of British flair. The Patinated Bronze Beater B3 demonstrated the brand's willingness to explore unique materials and finishes. In 2024, after maintaining the same core case design for almost 15 years, Schofield surprised the watch world with the Light. This new model represented a significant departure, featuring a smaller 40mm case size while staying true to the brand's commitment to functionality and meticulous construction. The Light offered a fresh interpretation of the classic field watch, incorporating subtle military influences and prioritising wearability. With the introduction of the Light, Schofield indicated its intention to expand its appeal while remaining steadfast to its fundamental principles. The brand continues to innovate, utilising high-grade materials and movements to produce enduring timepieces designed to endure the test of time.
