Description

Here we have a 2025 Atelier Wen Perception ‘Millésime’ Mu, part of the ‘Millésime Project’, and Mu is the first in a line of community-submitted wishlists that recommend various design cues they would like to see adopted, with a limited production to be released on a yearly basis. Featuring a sculpted 40mm Grade 5 Titanium case that sits on your wrist with flat-ended angled lugs. An attractive, polished chamfered edge flows along the case towards a lug-to-lug length of 47mm and a case thickness of 10mm, ensuring a comfortable fit. The sculpted flanks and integrated bracelet create a seamless transition. Inspired by the prominent Chinese pagodas found in their architecture. On the right side, a knurled signed screw-down crown. The polished smooth bezel holds a double-domed sapphire crystal with 10 layers of AR-coating above an incredible mesmerising complex guilloché, écaille de poisson (fish-scale) pattern in purple PVD, featuring the work of China’s only Master Craftsman in the art of traditional guillochage, Cheng Yuchai. An outer chapter ring features a Super-LumiNova X1-printed repeating Chinese huiwen pattern surrounding applied rhodium-plated baton indexes marking the hours. Elegant rhodium-plated leaf hands are filled with the same lume and complemented by a tapered hand-bent second hand. At noon, we have the Atelier Wen motif completing this distinctive hand-crafted timepiece. On the reverse, a screwed-down semi-open case back with the embossed CNC-machined stone guardian lion found at the entrance to Chinese Temples, when the purple rotor swings into the window, it resembles the mouth of the lion, a nice touch. Inside an automatic Dandong Cal. SL1588A, 32 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, fitted with a purple rhodium-plated rotor, decorated with blued screws and circular Geneva stripes. It comes paired with its Grade 5 Titanium 22mm integrated quick-release bracelet secured by a deployant clasp and toolless micro-adjustment system; all links are provided and come with its Atelier Wen presentation box and paperwork.

About Atelier Wen

Atelier Wen is a watchmaking company based in Hong Kong that was founded in 2017 by Robin Tallendier and Wilfried Buiron, two close friends who share a passion for watches and Chinese watchmaking. While Robin's affinity for watches began at the young age of 14, he has since worked in the French Chamber of Watchmaking in Shanghai and Christie's in London. Robin is seriously interested in Chinese horology and was appointed as an "Execution Expert" at the China Horologe Association (CHA) in 2016. The CHA is an organisation that supervises and promotes the watch industry in China. Wilfred, on the other hand, is an experienced entrepreneur who has worked in multiple startups. He is responsible for Atelier Wen's manufacturing and design. The name "Atelier Wen" combines two words. "Atelier" is a French term for a workshop, while "Wen" is the Chinese word for culture. The name represents the company's commitment to blending the best of both French and Chinese cultures to create beautiful timepieces.
