About Vetta

In 1896, Paul Wyler embarked on a visionary journey by founding the Wyler Company. This venture would soon be celebrated for its commitment to producing watch movements that were remarkably durable and shockproof. The brand quickly established a strong reputation in the world of horology, admired for its innovative approach and craftsmanship. By 1924, the company expanded its identity and began trading under various names, including Wyler Vetta, Vetta, and Wyler-Vetta. Each timepiece was a harmonious blend of Italian elegance, American ingenuity, and meticulous Swiss precision, appealing to watch enthusiasts worldwide. Paul Wyler, a pioneer in watchmaking, secured an impressive seven patents throughout his career, showcasing his relentless pursuit of innovation. One of his most notable inventions, the "Incaflex balance spring," introduced in 1927, enhanced the resilience of watches against impacts, earning a patent in 1932. His daring spirit was evident when he launched the Dynastar from the iconic Eiffel Tower in 1956, and again at the 1962 EXPO, when he sent the Dynawind soaring from the top of Seattle's Space Needle—an audacious testament to his brand's boldness. Throughout the years, the Wyler Vetta became a favourite among sports professionals, from football players to motor racing icons and even Enzo Ferrari, who commissioned a unique, bespoke watch in 1975. Their savvy marketing strategies, characterised by vibrant advertisements and charismatic Hollywood celebrities, resonated deeply with audiences. The year 2007 marked a significant revival for the brand at BaselWorld when Wyler Geneve was reintroduced with great enthusiasm. Staying true to Paul Wyler's legacy, this new line featured a revolutionary watch designed with triple protection: a shock-resistant case, a robust crown guard, and the renowned Incaflex Balance, embodying the tradition of innovation. Today, Wyler boasts elegant boutiques scattered across Italy, a testament to its enduring legacy. In 1993, the brand became wholly owned by the Binda Group, a respected Italian distribution company. More recently, in 2021, Wyler Vetta Srl proudly emerged as an independent company, dedicated to continuing the spirit of innovation and creativity that Paul Wyler laid down over a century ago.
