This watch is sold as "Watch Only" and therefore comes with no original box or paperwork. The watch comes paired on a nicely fitted 18mm brown leather strap with a gold plated buckle. The watch is from Circa. 1980s and is sold in worn, vintage condition. The Watch

Hanowa was founded in Bienne, Switzerland by Hans Noll, Elisabeth Noll-Wirz in 1963. The brand name is an acronym of their names. In 1990 they bought a second brand Swiss Military. Since 2015 Hanowa has been officially licensed with the Swiss Confederation, this allows the company to commercialise their product using the "Swiss Military" name which is owned by the Swiss government. The company distributes to over 60 countries.

This attractive vintage  24mm Hanowa “Tank” is clearly inspired by the Cartier Tank. A lug to lug length of 31mm and a thickness of just 8.5mm, ensures a comfortable fit.  A yellow gold plated case with soft edges and a little wear on the corners. On the right side a crown with a pink cabochon. The flat crystal sits above a Tigers Eye and black dial in a geometric curve design. Delicate gold-plated sword hands nicely balance the overall look. The branding text and 17 Jewels in gilt finish the dial. On the reverse, a stainless steel snap-on case back. Inside a Quartz movement which we converted from the original Swiss 17 jewel Pin lever movement. This replacement gives the watch much better accuracy and adds new life to this attractive watch. Fitted on an 18mm leather strap.

Personal Note

Easily a great value proposition for someone wanting a "Tank" style watch for a fraction of the cost, whilst the size is on the smaller side and maybe more fitting for a female today, I know many gents who would happily wear this stunning watch and rock it well!
