The Watch
Swatch are no strangers to collaborations with massive success from the likes of Adidas, Nike, and Hodinkee. This time around, they joined forces with street apparel giants BAPE, a Japanese clothing brand founded by Nigo (Tomoaki Nagao) in Ura-Harajuku, Japan in 1993. The brand specialises in men’s, women’s, and children’s lifestyle and streetwear. A Bathing Ape can be found at 4 Upper James Street London, the watch is limited to 1,993 pieces, their brand’s launch date. The Swatch Big Bold watch has a 47mm round case that has significant wrist presence. London in red at 12 o’clock on the GMT bezel. At 2 o’clock you find the crown. The bold red dial has pops of white with the 3 and 9 in contrast to the black minute chapter ring and the other black numerals, at 3 o’clock a small day/date window. Blue baton hands are complemented by a blue seconds hand. The Swatch strap has the “London UK” stylised on it.
Personal Note
One of the most bonkers Swatches' I have seen and that is saying a lot as Swatch creates some incredibly bonkers pieces! Whilst not for everyone, this will definitely put a smile on someone's face.
