Here, we have a curvaceous, unworn 2023 Venezianico Bucintoro Blue Chrono. Named after the Doge's ceremonial flagship galley that led the Regata Storica, which has taken place on the Grand Canal in Venice since the 13th Century. The polished and brushed 41mm stainless steel case curves over your wrist with thick lugs, and its polished chamfered edge leads to a lug-to-lug length of 47.5mm and a case thickness of 14.5mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. Down the right side, we have the polished pushers for the chronograph and a signed crown, which is protected by crown guards in the centre. The stepped brushed and polished smooth bezel holds a sapphire crystal AR coated above a dynamic sunburst blue bicompax dial. A raised outer Tachymeter rehaut surrounds a minute chapter ring with applied polished facet-edged baton indexes filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova marking the hours, at 6 o’clock a recessed date window, at 3 o’clock a continuous seconds register and at 9 o’clock a 30-minute register, each sits slightly recessed and has a polished ring and concentric circular pattern, slender steel hands filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova are complemented by a tapered chronograph hand, at 12 o’clock we have the Venezianico motif and at 6 o'clock “Bucintoro Movimento Automatico Cronografo”. On the reverse, a screwed-down solid case back with the details of the watch in relief around its edge and a splendid engraved depiction of the famous Doge's ceremonial flagship galley, “Bucintoro”. Inside an automatic Seiko Cal. NE86A, 34 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, this quality column wheel movement has a vertical clutch for precision and has hand winding and hacking seconds for your convenience. Venezianico is an Italian watch brand that was established in 2017 by brothers Alberto and Alessandro Morell. The inspiration to create the brand came during their time at Ca' Foscari University in Venice, where they envisioned watches that embodied the essence of their hometown while showcasing their dedication to the art of watchmaking. The brand name Venezianico is a combination of “Veneziano” (which translates to “of Venice” or “from Venice”) and the Latin suffix “-ico.” As part of their branding, the brothers selected the golden Renaissance cross atop the Clock Tower in St. Mark's Square as their emblem.
