The Watch

Since the success of the limited edition Muffin, Swatch and Hackett have collaborated for a second time bringing a collection of three watches inspired by the British seaside. Our Unworn 2019 Swatch x Hackett London SUTZ405S is the only Limited Edition of 1,983 which celebrates Hackett’s foundation date. Ours is 0377. The 41mm plastic case is translucent and gently curves over your wrist. A lug to lug length of 50mm and a thickness of 13mm ensures a comfortable fit. The dark blue bezel has a white and blue 60-minute scale printed. A domed crystal sits above the white dial with an outer minute track of white minutes and blue hour markers on a grey background. At 3 o’clock a date window in the form of a bowler hat was a common sight on the London streets. We have at 12 and 6 numerals and the red dots reflecting the positions of the jewels in the movement. Long baton hands have lume tips complemented by a blue second hand. On the reverse, an exhibition hermetically sealed case back with the Automatic Swatch Sisitem51, 19 jewels, beating at 21,600 beats per hour, was released at Baselworld back in 2013. It is completely machine built and uses a streamlined 51 component movement and an interesting bi-directional peripheral rotor. The watch comes fitted on its original blue and black striped 19mm silicone strap. Comes with its Swatch presentation box and papers.

Personal Note

The Swatch Sistem51 has been a marvel since its creation, made entirely by machines and utilising only 51 components in its automatic movement, how incredible? Some models have become very collectible and yet are still incredibly affordable in this mad world of watches we participate in, why not start your Swatch collection today?
