The Watch

Seikos history began in 1881 when Kintaro Hattori established the K. Hattori retail and repair store. In 1892 Seikosha was established making wall clocks. 1895 saw the production of their first pocket watch. 1913 saw the launch of their first wristwatch, the Laurel. In 1924 the first Seiko was manufactured. Daini Seikosha (now Seiko Instruments Inc.) established in 1937. Seiko listed on the Tokyo stock exchange in 1949. The Suwa factory became independent and formed Suwa Seikosha Co. Ltd. (now Seiko Epson Corporation in 1959). The Presage range combines the Japanese aesthetic of craftsmanship and Seikos experience in creating timepieces for generations.

Our Seiko Presage SARX055 has a 41mm case with polished and brushed surfaces that are expertly defined by crisp edges. A lug to lug length of 46mm and thickness of 11.5mm ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist. On the right side, a signed crown. The case and bracelet have a super hard coating of a proprietary Seiko Dia Shield, adding peace of mind to the watches endurance. The polished bezel holds a domed sapphire crystal above a “Snowflake'' silvery textured dial. Reminiscent of the Grand Seiko dials with their exquisite finishing. A raised outer minute chapter ring and applied batons with facet polished edges magically catch the light as you rotate your wrist at 3 o’clock a date window. Finely polished Dauphine's hands are complemented by a blue tapered sweeping seconds hand, at 12 o’clock an applied Seiko. At 6 o’clock Presage Automatic in black. On the reverse, a screw-down exhibition case back with a sapphire crystal. Inside an Automatic Seiko cal. 6R15, 23 jewels, 21,600 beats per hour. A powerhouse of a movement with hacking and hand winding functionality. The watch comes fitted on a Seiko 20mm brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet with a push-button deployment clasp. Comes with its original Seiko presentation box and papers.
