The Watch
Here, we have a fun collaboration, Timex x seconde/seconde 'iykyk' Episode 5 "Rootbeer" Limited Edition 225/500, with French artist Romaric André, known as seconde/seconde, André has gained an international reputation for designing quirky and interesting customisations of vintage timepieces, his inspiration for this one is a popular frothy soft drink,' iykyk', which is an abbreviation of “if you know, you know.” The 38mm barrel-shaped stainless steel case sits comfortably on your wrist thanks to the integrated bracelet, covered lugs lead to a lug-to-lug length of 44.5mm and a case thickness of 12mm. On the right side is a gold-plated crown, a rotating bezel that has the characteristic 12-hour brown and gold toned insert, reflecting the brown hues of the Rootbeer, and a domed acrylic crystal that sits above a brown dial. An outer minute track surrounds the disc, and baton indexes coated in SuperLumiNova mark the hours. Gold-plated Mercedes hands filled with lume are complemented by a mug of frothy Root Beer as a second hand, thanks to Romaric. At 12 o’clock, we have the Q Timex motif, and at 6 o’clock, “ Quartz” completes this fun, sporty timepiece. On the reverse, there is a screwed-down case back with the battery hatch inside a quartz movement. The watch comes paired with its flowing 18mm integrated stainless steel and gold-plated bracelet secured by a signed folding clasp. The watch comes with its collaboration Timex presentation box and paperwork.
