Monaco was made famous by Steve McQueen in the film Le Mans in 1971. Since then, this has been an absolute icon and rightly so! Love or hate TAG; respect for Monaco is universal within the watch world! Our TAG Heuer Monaco has a 37mm brushed and polished square stainless steel case. Stubby lugs with a lug to lug length of 43.mm and a thickness of 13mm gives the watch an impressive wrist presence. A convex scratch-resistant sapphire crystal sits above the bronze PVD coated dial, giving it a rich chocolate brown sunburst effect. Uniquely with this watch, we have 13 Top Wesselton diamonds below each applied baton index marking the hours at 3 o’clock a date window. At 6 o’clock, a square sub-seconds register. Steel nickel-plated sword hands have luminescence infill. On the reverse, a sapphire crystal exhibition case back. Inside an Automatic TAG Heuer Cal. 6, 27 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour. The movement is based on either the ETA 2895-2 or the Sellita SW260-1. The watch comes fitted on a brand new TAG Heuer 22mm Python leather strap with a signed buckle.
This is a marmite watch if there ever was one, for those of you who don't know what marmite is google it and you'll understand. This watch will really split people down the middle and when posting on Instagram it really has! Some cannot stand it, some absolutely love it, I really do stand somewhere in the middle personally, I can appreciate it and in some scenarios actually, really like it, but then in others, I do wonder if I could ever be the kind of person to wear this watch? Now, if I'm honest, that all comes down to the incredible strap it is paired on, which is correct! But throw this on a lovely brown suede strap and I think you've got yourself a far more wearable watch for most.
