The Watch

Edouard Heuer founded The Heuer Watch Company in 1860 in St. Imier, Switzerland. Chronographs have been the mainstay for Heuer and later TAG Heuer. Featuring many models and configurations, expanding the possibilities to the full. In 1958 Jack Heuer, Edouard’s son, joined the company. In 1963 the first generation of Carrera was launched. Singer made the dials, and Valjoux made the movements just like the Daytona. The name Carrera comes from Carrera Panamericana, a legendary race across Mexico. In 1999 TAG Heuer accepted a bid from LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A.

Our TAG Heuer Carrera CV2110-0 is a reissue of the Reference 2447 released in 1963. It has a 39mm polished tonneau stainless steel case with bevel-edged tapering lugs. On the right side, you have round pushers and a signed crown. A polished bezel holds a domed sapphire crystal. The white dial has a white 1/5th seconds chapter ring and a blue Decimeter (measures length or distance) ring. Applied baton indexes are lume filled, marking the hours. Between 4 and 5 a date window. At 3 o’clock, a recessed 60 seconds register, at 6 o’clock, a recessed 12-hour register, and at 9 o’clock, a recessed 30 minute register. Slender steel sword hands with a tapered chronograph seconds hand. On the reverse, a screwed-down case back with Carrera and TAG Heuer laser-etched into it. Inside an Automatic TAG Heuer Calibre 17 (ETA 2894-2), 37 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour. The watch comes fitted on a leather strap with a signed deployment clasp. Comes with its TAG Heuer box and papers.
