The Watch
Here we have a Stickered 2023 Maen Hudson 38 MK4 Heritage Honeycomb with a 38mm polished and brushed 316L stainless steel case, the polished bevel edge of the case leads to a lug-to-lug length of 46mm and a case thickness of 12mm giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right is a signed screw-down crown with deep knurling for extra grip. The 120-click unidirectional stainless steel bezel has polished and brushed knurling with a black Aluminium 12-hour insert, numerals coated in faux patina Old Radium X1 Super-LumiNova. A double-domed sapphire crystal sits above a stunning Fumé Honeycomb dial, inspired by the dials of the 1950s, it goes from black at its outer edge to shades of grey, and an outer minute track surrounds applied baton and disc indexes coated with Old Radium X1 Superluminova marking the hours. Steel Baton’s hands with an extended centre filled with Old Radium X1 Super-LumiNova are complemented by a lollipop counterweighted sweeping second hand. At 12 o’clock we have the MAEN motif and at 6 o’clock "Automatic" red "Hudson" completes this striking vintage-inspired sports watch. On the reverse is a screw-down case back with the details of the watch engraved around its edge, inside an automatic Sellita SW200-1, 26 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour, this movement has hacking and hand winding for your convenience. The watch comes paired with its 20mm stainless steel bracelet with polished and brushed surfaces, and engraved deployant clasp with push button release, all links are provided and comes with its MAEN presentation box, travel case and paperwork.
Personal Note
Maen is a brand that has been taking the collecting community by storm and growing from strength to strength in design and build quality. I have said it before and I'll say it again, there really aren't many brands producing watches this standard at this price point, I'd highly recommend seeing one in the metal to see for yourself exactly what I am talking about. This Maen Hudson 38 MK4 Heritage Honeycomb is fantastic and the dial really is the star of the show, add it to your collection whilst you can!
The Brand
MAEN Watches was the brainchild of Sebastiaan Cortjaens and Jules van Helvoort, who both share an avid interest in watches and watch collecting. Based in Stockholm Sweden the brand was born in 2017. The name comes from an old Dutch spelling of the word Moon, a true symbol of time. They have created 6 different collections and have customers worldwide.
