36mm, fluted bezel, gold plated case, deep black markers and hands, day/date feature... All for under £100! Oh and vintage, manually wound and "Made in the USSR", it's a damn cool watch for the money! This watch features a movement by a brand called Raketa, the whole watch was actually made by Raketa for Sekonda, it was then recased by Sekonda with a slightly beefier case and then retailed by Sekonda with their signed dials. Raketa versions of the same watch can be found, the case is the most noticeable difference with the Sekonda being slightly better.
Points of Mention
The watch comes with no box or paperwork. The watch is gold plated and vintage, signs of wear can be seen and some fading to the gold plating can be seen, the crown is worn. The crystal is new and therefore free of marks, as is the strap. The watch comes with no service history, though the watch is currently working.
One of my very first vintage watches was a Sekonda exactly the same as this in Steel and I still own it to this day, the design is reminiscent of the Datejust whilst still being different enough, the size is also great for a watch of it's age, manually wound is also a nice touch... And not to forget "Made in the USSR"!
