The Watch
Breitling was established in 1884 by Leon Breitling in the Swiss Jura Mountains. Breitling stands for high precision, outstanding performance, and functionality. The Colt model was released in 1980 initially for armed forces like the Navitimer and Chronomat. Due to popular demand, it soon established itself as one of its best sellers.
In 1985, Breitling launched the Aerospace, a multifunctional display showing chronograph, timer, GMT, day and date etc. This rare 2011 Breitling Aerospace "King of Jordan" Limited Edition E75362 was given to VIPs and top brass by the King of Jordan. The 40mm Titanium case curves over your wrist with a lug to lug length of 45mm and a thickness of 9.5mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right, a signed crown fitted with two gaskets and protected by crown guards. The unidirectional 60-minute bezel has the characteristic deep engraving and raised 15, 30, and 45-minute sections making this undoubtedly a Breitling. The screws around the edge add interest and aid you in rotating the bezel. A flat scratch-resistant sapphire crystal AR coated is recessed, adding some protection against knocks. A dark blue matte dial has an outer 24-hour chapter ring. Large applied 12, 3, 6, and 9 with applied baton indexes coated in SuperLumiNova mark the hours. Underneath the 12, we have the first digital screen, which shows which function you have selected in an abbreviated form. Rotating the crown in its neutral position selects each function. As you slowly rotate the crown, both displays light up for around 6 seconds.
The Crown of Jordan sits proudly on the dial. The next digital screen shows the time, date, chronograph, countdown timer, alarm. The sword hands are automatically synchronised with the local time set. The watch also has a minute repeater indicating hours and minutes by pressing the crown when in its neutral position. On the reverse, a screw-down case back has a conversion scale for weights and measures used in planning a flight. In the center, we have engraved the Breitling logo. Inside a sophisticated Swiss Quartz Multi-Function COSC Certified movement. The watch comes fitted on its 20mm Breitling Titanium bracelet with a signed folding clasp and also comes with its Breitling presentation box and papers.
Personal Note
It's not every day you see a watch like this, I find it super cool that this Breitling stated "By Breitling" making it clear this is a watch for the King of Jordan to distribute and Breitling were just given the honour of being the chosen watch. This is a real collectors piece, if its just the regular watch you're after save yourself some pennies and buy a standard one, if you want something different from the crowd with a story then this is the one for you.
