Universal Geneve was founded in 1894 in Le Loche, Switzerland. By 1919 they had officially moved their operations to Geneva. This 1970s Pocket watch is elegantly styled in 20 micron Gold plate. The 41 mm case has a gold luster that catches the light perfectly, the beautifully crafted pencil hands and stick indexes are easy read. Inside we have a manually wound Cal.42 movement that has 17 jewels beats at 21,600 bph. The case back has Universal Geneve sticker still on. At 7mm thick it is perfect to fit in a waistcoat pocket or purse. An original Universal Geneve felt pouch is included, a nice touch to protect the watch.
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as watch and pouch only! Therefore it comes with no original Universal Geneve box or Universal Geneve paperwork. The watch is in NOS (New Old Stock) condition meaning it pristine, under high magnification you may see a few marks which would be storage marks as this has been preserved for 40+ years! The pocket watch has no known service history but is running.
When this pocket watch was offered to me, I knew that I had to have it, the condition is key here as is how great it looks! Whilst certainly not all too practical in today's world it is super fun to have and a great keepsafe.
