Points of Mention
This watch is sold with its original Longines box and Longines paperwork, the guarantee comes unsigned, the box is also the heavier wooden box typically preserved by Longines for their higher-end complication watches rather than this Conquest. The watch comes paired on its original black Longines leather strap with Longines signed steel buckle. The watch is from Circa. 2017/18 based on when the original owner purchased the watch, it is in worn condition but overall very good. The watch is running well and will come with our 12-Month NON-Waterproof warranty.
The Watch
Longines was founded in 1832 by Auguste Agassiz and is considered to be the oldest registered watch brand. Famously, Lindbergh, the aviator, and adventurer worked with Longines to create the Hour Angle watch in 1927. They are also the official timekeeper for the French Open. This Heritage Conquest harks back to the 1950s styling. In keeping with this, they have used a 35mm stainless steel case which is highly polished, it has a subtle curve to the lugs and an oversized signed crown. Its stepped polished bezel encases the bubble hesalite crystal, that creates that vintage distortion to the dial. A sunburst silver dial with applied angled gold indexes and lume pips for the hours and unusually at 12 o’clock, we have a framed date window. Dauphine's hands in gold with a Superluminova infill give an overall elegant dial, faithful to its ancestor. The case is screw-down with gold and blue detailing to the waves and stars in the center. Inside an Automatic Longine Cal. L633 25 Jewels beating at 28,800 Beats per hour. Fitted on a quality 18mm Longines leather strap with a signed buckle.
Personal Note
This has easily been one of Longines' best selling models from the Heritage range, rightfully so! At a glance you'd be forgiven for getting them confused with the originals they are that good, such a fantastic design and perfect size at 35mm with this thicker design of case and lugs, make it feel more like a 37mm on the wrist. The contrast of the silver dial against the yellow gold is striking and just works so well, easily a great looking watch and well loved within the collecting community.
