Geckota was founded by Jonathan Quinn who incidentally founded WatchGecko in 2010. The company makes a number of watches including their own creations. Selling through their website you can find accessories and watches at reasonable prices.
The Geckota C-05 VK64 is now discontinued. This prototype was a watch designed with the help of their Geckota Owners Club Facebook group. Limited to 80 pieces. Its 40mm stainless steel brushed and polished case tapers at the chamfered lugs. At 47mm lug to lug and a thickness of 13.5mm you can be sure of a comfortable fit. On the right side a large screw-down crown and piston pushers for the chronograph. The fixed blue bezel has both 12 hour and 60-minute scales on it. A flat sapphire crystal sits above an enamel effect glossy dial. Applied baton indexes mark the hours. At 3 o’clock a date window. At 9 o’clock a 60 seconds register. The hands are quite unique for a chronograph with a lollipop hour hand and a spearhead minute hand, both coated in Super LumiNova. For a pop of colour, the chronograph hand is red. On the reverse, A machine-turned screw-down case back.
Inside Meca-Quartz Calibre SII VK64 made by Seiko Instruments. Part of the hybrid mechanical quartz (meca quartz) movement line. It is a chronograph movement that uses quartz technology for the main operation and functions of the watch, and a mechanical module for operating the chronograph. It gives you the snapback of a mechanical chronograph and the accuracy of quartz. Fitted on a 20mm WatchGecko strap with a signed buckle.
