Points of Mention
This watch is sold with its original Bremont box, original Bremont paperwork and Bremont COSC Certificate, the watch was purchased from retail November 2019. The watch comes paired on its original rubber Bremont strap with Bremont signed buckle. The watch is in worn condition but is overall very good, see the photos. The watch is running well as you would expect.
In 2018 Bremont introduced the S500 Waterman Limited Edition of 300 pieces it has been created in collaboration with Mark Healey, a free diver, surfer and ocean environmentalist. Bremont made the decision to bring together the worlds of the tool dive watch and GMT everyday wear. Design skews from the 2 o’clock position of the screw-down crown with a single crown guard to the materials used as a sign that Bremont has done their homework. The 43mm stainless steel case includes a Helium valve, has a unidirectional bezel with a shock and scratch-resistant sapphire insert, clearly marking the first 20 min in white, giving high contrast against the deep blue depths of the Ocean. A slightly domed sapphire AR coated Crystal protects the white cross-hatched patterned dial with blue framed Baton and pip markers for the hours. A small window for the date at 3 o’clock, keeps things symmetrical. Slim Blue and white syringe hands with Super-luminova and a large Blue arrow hand for the GMT complication complete an uncluttered face. Clearly you can see the consistent Ocean colour theme throughout the choices made by Mark Healey and Bremeont. On the rear, we have a Sapphire Crystal screw-down case back with a water resistance rating of 500m/1640ft. Inside we have a 21Jewels COSC chronometer-certified Bremont BE-93-2AE automatic movement – technically a modified ETA 2892-A2 caliber – which operates at a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour and has a power reserve of 42 hours. Fitted with a Blue Rubber strap complete with a signed buckle.
Whilst certainly a large watch I was incredibly surprised by how well it wears, mostly thanks to the sloping lugs which conform to the wrist well regardless of wrist size. The dial is so well detailed and some of the macro shots really show this!
