Description

Here we have a 2026 Sinn 144 St Sa Ar Automatic Chronograph 144.0671 with a bead-blasted 41mm stainless steel case that balances beautifully on your wrist with its unique hooded lug design, a lug-to-lug length of 44mm, and a sleek case thickness of 14mm, giving the watch a powerful and compact wrist presence. Seamlessly integrated into the right side are the short chronograph pushers and a signed screw-down crown at the centre. Sinn’s advanced Ar-Dehumidifying Technology combines a special drying capsule on the left side, EDR seals (extreme diffusion reduction), and a protective gas filling to ensure the crystal remains free from fogging. When the drying capsule is saturated, it's indicated by a deep blue colour. A fixed tachymeter and pulsometer scale bezel holds a flat sapphire crystal with AR coating on the inside, above a matte black dial. An outer minute track with highly legible markings surrounds the baton indices coated in Super-LumiNova, which mark the hours. At 12 o’clock, a 30-minute register; at 6 o’clock, a 12-hour register; and finally, at 9 o’clock, the continuous seconds register. At 3 o’clock, a framed day/date window and the classic Sinn motif complete this toolwatch. Striking white baton hands filled with Super-LumiNova are complemented by a vibrant red chronograph hand and matching register needles for ultimate readability. On the reverse, a screw-down sapphire crystal display case back reveals the movement, and with its screw-down crown, the case meets the technical standard DIN 8310, is pressure-resistant to 20 bar, and is low-pressure resistant. Inside an automatic Concepto Cal. C99001, 25 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, it is a highly reliable modern movement based on the venerable architecture of the ETA/Valjoux 7750, with components that meet the technical standard DIN 8309 for being Anti-magnetic. The watch is paired with its original Sinn 20mm bead-blasted integrated stainless steel bracelet with a signed folding clasp, plus a Sinn 20mm rubber strap and clasp and is sold with its original Sinn presentation box, Sinn spring bar removal tool and invoice.

Personal Note

Sinn has always approached watchmaking with an engineering-first mindset, and the 144 is probably one of the best examples of that philosophy. Almost every feature has been designed to solve a real-world problem rather than simply look good. From the Ar-Dehumidifying Technology that prevents the crystal from fogging, to the anti-magnetic construction, 200m water resistance, and incredibly robust chronograph movement, it's a watch that feels purpose-built in every sense. What I love is just how unapologetically German it is. There's no unnecessary decoration or marketing gimmicks, just clever engineering, exceptional functionality, and an obsession with reliability. You get the feeling that every decision was made by someone asking, "How can we make this work even better?" If you appreciate watches that are engineered from the ground up to perform, rather than simply impress in a display cabinet, the Sinn 144 is incredibly difficult to beat. Add this fantastic watch to your collection today!

About Sinn

In 1961, the pilot and flight instructor Helmet Sinn founded the Sinn watch company in Frankfurt am Main. Principally making watches that gave the user maximum functionality at a reasonable price. His Pilot watches became popular with his fellow pilots as they appreciated their build quality and precision. In 1985, Professor Dr Reinhard Furrer, a German physicist, could be seen wearing the 140 S model on his wrist during the D-1 space lab mission. They continued their exploration of space with the 142 S in 1992. This watch was worn by Dietrich Flade during the Mir-92 mission. Later in 1993, the 142 space chronograph went on the second German Spacelab mission, the D-2. The mission was in space for 10 days, orbiting the Earth 160 times whilst onboard the NASA Space Shuttle, Columbia. SINN was bought by Lothar Schmidt, an engineer, in 1994, renaming the company ‘Sinn Spezialuhren GmbH’. Over the years, Schmidt used his engineering background to develop Ar-dehumidifying technology, which is resistant to temperature. In 2011, they celebrated their 50th anniversary.
