Description

Here we have a 2026 Junkers Baumuster Automatic 42mm on a strap. Junkers is a German brand deeply rooted in aviation history, taking inspiration from the legendary aircraft designed by Hugo Junkers, the pioneering German engineer. The brand channels the minimalist, functional aesthetic of early 20th-century aviation instrumentation and Bauhaus design principles, making reliable tool watches accessible to collectors. The 42mm brushed stainless steel case offers a commanding presence on the wrist, framed by utilitarian lines and robust lugs. A lug-to-lug length of 50mm and a slim case thickness of 11.5mm ensure a prominent yet comfortable fit. On the right side, we have a tactile, knurled pilot-style crown designed for easy gripping. The clean bezel frames a flat crystal above the star of the show, a high-legibility, black Baumuster-style, deep-ribbed dial that prioritises instant readability. The dial layout comprises an outer track for minutes and seconds, while an inner track focuses on hours. At 3 o’clock, a framed date window. This classic observation configuration is perfectly balanced, with bold Arabic numerals and stark white markings providing maximum contrast. Luminous sword hands, complemented by a needle-thin orange centre seconds hand, a Junkers motif at noon, complete this historically inspired contemporary aviator watch. On the reverse, a screw-down case back protects the mechanics within. Inside is an automatic Seiko Cal. NH35A movement, 24 jewels, 21,600 beats per hour, complete with a hacking seconds function for precise time setting. The watch comes paired with its Junkers 22mm leather strap and a signed pin buckle. This watch is sold with its original Junkers box and paperwork.

About Junkers

The modern Junkers watch brand was established in 1998 by POINTtec Electronic GmbH, which secured the licensing rights to the Junkers name in 1988. POINTtec Electronic GmbH also owns the brands Zeppelin, Iron Annie, and Maximilian. The goal was to translate Hugo Junkers' legendary aviation milestones and his connection to the functional Bauhaus design movement into mechanical and quartz wristwatches. Professor Hugo Junkers (1859–1935) was a renowned German engineer and industrialist. He revolutionised aviation by building the world's first all-metal aircraft and designing famous planes such as the Junkers F 13 and the legendary Ju 52. In 2019, after a lapse in the licensing rights with POINTtec, Hugo Junkers' descendants, led by his great-granddaughter, Charlotte Junkers.
