Description

Here we have a 2026 Bulova Marine Star Black Automatic 41mm 98B465, featuring a contemporary 41mm stainless steel case that balances sporty utility with refined style. The Marine Star collection has long been a cornerstone of Bulova’s lineup, originally gaining popularity in the 1970s and 80s as a versatile "desk diver" that could handle both the open sea and a formal setting. This 2026 edition continues that tradition of nautical elegance, offering a sleek, modern aesthetic that feels right at home on the water. The lug-to-lug of 48mm and a case thickness of 13mm provide a substantial presence on the wrist without feeling overbearing. At 3 o’clock, a protected screw-down crown. A unidirectional rotating bezel with a black-and-silver aluminium insert sits atop the case, framing a flat sapphire crystal for superior scratch resistance. The black dial transitions into a gradient "fume" effect, featuring a subtle textured finish, accented by bold, applied faceted indexes that give the watch its "Star" character. At 3 o’clock, a date window is cleanly integrated into the design. Broad, luminescent-filled hands ensure excellent visibility, while the red-tipped sweeping second hand adds a vibrant pop of maritime colour. On the reverse, the exhibition case back reveals the movement and bears the serial numbers. Inside is the Automatic Miyota Cal. 8215, a 21-jewel workhorse known for its durability. The watch comes fitted with a 20mm Bulova Black HNBR rubber strap and pin buckle.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Bulova presentation box, swing tag and paperwork. The watch comes fitted with a 20mm Bulova Black HNBR rubber strap and pin buckle. It is from Circa. 2026 and is in worn condition, but overall, it is in very fair condition, as you can see. The watch comes with our 12-Months Warranty.

Personal Note

This is a really strong example of what Bulova does well when they step things up a level. The dial in particular stands out; this smoked, textured finish has a lot more depth in person than you’d expect, and it gives the whole watch a much more premium feel on the wrist. Overall, it also feels like a noticeable jump up in quality compared to Bulova’s more entry-level pieces from the past. The finishing, case design, and general presence all come together to create something that feels genuinely good value for money, especially for a full automatic diver at this price point. About Bulova

Bulova Company was founded in 1875 by Joseph Bulova. Based in New York, they moved to 580 Fifth Avenue in 1920. In 1923, Bulova Watch Inc. was introduced. Max Hetzel, a Swiss engineer, was recruited in Bienne in 1950; he developed a number of prototypes, replacing the balance with a U-shaped tuning fork fitted between two transistors, which increased the watch's precision considerably. In 1952, Bulova started the development of the Accutron, the world's first fully electronic watch. NASA asked Bulova in 1960 to incorporate Accutron into its computers for the space program. Bulova Accutron timing mechanisms have become an essential part of the 46 missions of the U.S. Space Program. In 1962, Bulova was the first brand to bring a tuning fork-powered quartz movement to the mass market with the slogan "The watch that hums." This slogan was powerful, as the watch indeed became known for its constant hum. This was due to the motor inside constantly working to provide a smooth sweep to the second hand.
