Description

Here we have a 2026 Baltic Aquascaphe MK2 Grey Dial, a refined evolution of the French brand’s signature diver, blending mid-century aesthetics with modern tool-watch reliability. The 37mm stainless steel case has been expertly brushed with polished accents, offering a classic silhouette that caters perfectly to enthusiasts seeking vintage proportions. With a lug-to-lug length of 45mm and a case thickness of 13mm, the MK2 provides a compact and comfortable fit, while the 20mm drilled lugs allow for effortless strap changes. On the right side, a signed screw-down crown ensures a robust 200m water resistance. The unidirectional 120-click bezel features a sapphire insert for scratch resistance, framing a double-domed sapphire crystal AR-coated on the inside that provides charming "lens effect" distortions at the edges. Beneath lies a stunning grained grey dial, lending a monochromatic, versatile look. The dial features a mix of applied 3D circular and triangular indexes made with BGW9 Super-LumiNova for excellent legibility in the dark, and an interesting depth to the dial, complemented by polished sword hands and a lollipop sweeping second hand. As a "no-date" model, the dial remains perfectly symmetrical, staying true to its heritage-inspired roots. On the reverse, a solid screw-down case back engraved with an undulating geometric wave pattern protects the reliable automatic Miyota Cal. 9039, a high-grade Japanese movement that beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Chosen for its slim profile and hacking seconds capability, this movement ensures the MK2 maintains its sleek form without sacrificing performance. The watch comes with its 20mm Baltic rubber strap.

Personal Note

The Aquascaphe MK2 is Baltic doing what they do best, taking a very familiar vintage diver formula and refining it just enough to feel fresh without losing its charm. The 37mm case is a big part of the appeal. It wears compact and balanced, with proper vintage proportions that sit comfortably on a wide range of wrists. Nothing oversized, nothing exaggerated, just a very natural fit. The grey dial is subtle but effective, and it shifts character depending on the light. Overall, it’s an easy, versatile diver that stays true to its inspiration while feeling very usable day to day!

About Baltic

Ettiene Malec, a Frenchman, founded Baltic in 2017. The name comes from his father’s birthplace in northern Poland near the Baltic Sea. His inspiration came after finding a suitcase full of his late father's watches and a notebook full of details about the watches. Soon after, he started to meet other collectors and collect himself. Then, seeing the huge interest in vintage timepieces, he completed a Kickstarter campaign with the Baltic HMS 001 and a Bi-Compax 001. Each watch is assembled in France near Besançon. Today, the brand continues to grow through its social media presence and its website to offer contemporary-designed, vintage-inspired timepieces.
