Here we have a 2025 Solstice 'The Revival' Automatic Ice Blue with a 40mm polished and brushed marine-grade stainless steel tonneau-shaped case, its sharp angles and chamfered edges give the watch a 1970s Gerald Genta aesthetic, thanks to the flowing integrated bracelet and flat-ended lugs. Polished chamfered edges lead the eye to a lug-to-lug length of 46.5mm and a case thickness of 10.5mm, ensuring a comfortable fit on your wrist. On the right side, a signed, deeply knurled crown is protected by long, brushed and polished crown guards. The stepped, polished, and brushed smooth bezel holds a flat sapphire crystal AR-coated above a stunning 3D interlocking cube-patterned Ice blue dial, creating interest and depth. An outer minute track surrounds the applied polished steel indexes coated in Super-LumiNova BWG9, marking the hours. At 3 o’clock, a date window, elegant polished steel Dauphine hands filled with Super-LumiNova BWG9, are complemented by an arrow pointed sweeping second hand. At noon, we have the Solstice motif, and at 6 o’clock, ‘Automatic’ completes this striking, versatile sports watch. On the reverse, a screw-down exhibition case back engraved with the details of the watch around its edge, inside an automatic Sellita SW200-1, 26 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, decorated signed rotor and blue screws, this workhorse movement has hand winding, hacking seconds and quick-set date. It comes paired with its quick-release 24mm integrated polished and brushed stainless steel bracelet, secured by a push-button signed butterfly clasp. It can sometimes feel like there is a new brand on the scene every few days, and I am regularly buying watches that are a 'first' for me, like this Solstice 'The Revival'. Some are quite mediocre but decent, and some, like this one, are very impressive on and off the wrist, especially for their price. This features an automatic Sellita SW200-1, a wonderful Ice Blue dial and comes in at 40mm with its integrated bracelet and a fitted white leather strap, all for well under £500. If the watches keep getting this good at this price point, keep them coming, as more great options are never a bad thing!
