Description

Here we have a 2025 Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic MB130793, part of their 1858 collection, which is inspired by the long history of watchmaking in Minerva, this watch takes its inspiration from the majestic Mer de Glace (Sea Ice), the largest glacier in France, and a major tourist attraction in the Chamonix valley, located on the northern side of the Mont Blanc massif in the French Alps. Featuring a 41mm brushed and polished stainless steel case that curves over your wrist with tapered lugs. Its chamfered, polished edge flows across its curvaceous flanks, leading to a lug-to-lug length of 50.5mm and a case thickness of 12.5mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side, a screw-down, deeply knurled crown capped with the Montblanc emblem in relief. A unidirectional, deep knurled bezel features a black ceramic 60-minute scale in white numerals and markings supporting a domed box sapphire crystal double AR-coated above an incredible grey glacier polished and lacquered textured dial, created using Gratte-boisé. This very old traditional technique involves using a wooden tool to create a textured effect. An outer minute railroad surrounds applied rhodium-coated Arabic and baton indexes filled with Super-LumiNova, marking the hours. At 3 o’clock, a framed date window. Elegant syringe-style rhodium-coated hands are complemented by an arrow-pointed sweeping second hand. At noon, we have the Montblanc motif ‘300m-1000ft’ printed underneath, conforming to ISO 6425 standards in diving, and at 6 o’clock, a disc representing the Mer de Glace ‘1858 Iced Sea’ completes this stunning timepiece.  On the reverse, a screwed-down solid case back is engraved with the watch's details around its edge and features a striking 3D engraved Glacier and diver in the centre. Inside, the automatic MB Cal. 24.17, 25 jewels, beats at 28,800 beats per hour, with a base of the Sellita SW200-1A, it has hacking seconds and a quick-set date for your convenience. It comes paired with its 20mm polished and brushed stainless steel bracelet secured by a signed push-button deployant clasp; all links are provided. This watch is sold with its original Montblanc Box and paperwork.

About Montblanc

The company was first founded in 1906 Montblanc’s writing instruments and leather goods became some of the world’s most premium and sought-after luxury gifts. The ‘Meisterstück’ fountain pen, released in 1924, became the brand’s most famous writing instrument. In 1997, Montblanc Montre S. A. was established in Le Locle, Switzerland. In 2006, Montblanc bought the Minerva watchmaking company based in Villeret, and it was here that the brand created exceptionally high-end horology wristwatches. Montblanc has been creating Nicolas Rieussec chronographs in Le Locle since 2008. These stunning chronographs encapsulate an alternative way to read the time, with models that feature two rotating discs with static hands. Since 2015, Davide Cerrato has been the managing director of their “watch division”. He brings with him experience from Panerai and Tudor, where he was in charge of marketing, design and product development.
