2025 MB&F M.A.D.1S Yinka Ilori Water ‘Grow Your Dreams’ 42mm

Here we have a special colourful collaboration: the 2025 MB&F M.A.D.1S Yinka Ilori Water ‘Grow Your Dreams’. The three watches, Sun with a yellow rotor, Nature with a green rotor and Water with a blue rotor, were limited to 400 pieces each and offered to MB & F owners and suppliers on a first-come, first-served basis and then via a raffle on the 2nd of September 2025 to the public. Yinka Ilori, a British-Nigerian artist known for his bright colours and fun designs, is now exploring watchmaking with the three collaboration M.A.D.1S timepieces. He combines elements from his cultural background, thoughtful messages about society, and beautiful designs in everyday items. His work can be seen everywhere from the dullest spots in London to unique, customised McLaren cars, showcasing his talent across various forms of art. The 42mm polished stainless steel case features distinctive angular lugs that appear to float and form part of the case's bracing on the back. A lug-to-lug length of 50mm and a case thickness of 15mm give the watch an impressive presence on the wrist. At 12 o’clock, you find the crown with a yellow cap. The slim midcase is mineral crystal, allowing you to read the time at 6 o’clock, with a single blue rotating cylinder of Arabic numerals marking the hours and a pointer indicating the time. A stainless steel bezel features the green HyCeram heat-hardened and hand-polished finish, a high-performance hybrid ceramic/polymer material. A sapphire crystal with an AR coating on both sides sits above the striking, multidimensional dial, with the movement front and centre rather than traditional hands and indexes. The lower light-blue aluminium base plate ring is embossed with M.A.D.1S Yinka Ilori and features a wave texture for an interesting 3D effect, while the screwed-down gold coloured movement holder supports the automatic LaJoux-Perret Cal. G101, 24 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour. The blue, milled, skeletonised Titanium fast-spinning rotor features a Tree symbolising growth and hope, and the words "Grow Your Dreams" in Super-LumiNova. On the reverse, the case back is engraved ‘MAD Edition x Yinka Ilori’ and the watch details. It comes paired with a quick-release 24mm half-light blue, half-dark blue rubber strap featuring a repeating leaf pattern that reflects Yinka Ilori's philosophy and Dreamscape, secured by a stainless steel folding clasp, plus an additional all-white 24 mm rubber strap in the box.
