Here we have a 2025 Henry ARCHER Verden GMT Ad Astra Aventurine, featuring a curvaceous 39mm brushed and polished 316L stainless steel case that comfortably sits on your wrist thanks to the tapered flat-ended lugs. A polished, chamfered edge flows across the brushed flanks towards a 46mm lug-to-lug and a case thickness of 12.5mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. The stepped, polished, and brushed smooth bezel holds a sapphire crystal AR-coated with six layers above an incredible dark blue Aventurine dial. Slight flake-shaped inclusions reflect light in a magical way known as "aventurescence." When you rotate your wrist, the dial shimmers from black to blue, giving you the impression that you are looking into the starry sky; this is a mined mineral that makes each dial unique. An outer 24-hour chapter ring surrounds the applied, chamfered-edged baton indexes, filled with White 10 BL Grade X1 Super-LumiNova, marking the hours. At 6 o’clock, a date window. Brushed steel sword hands are filled with the same lume. They are complemented by a blue GMT hand and a blue sweeping second hand, perfectly matching the date and accents on the chapter ring, which brings together the dial's elements in a functional, cohesive manner. At noon, we have the Henry ARCHER motif, at 6 o’clock ‘Verden’ and in blue ‘Dual Zone GMT’ which completes this stunning traveller's companion sports timepiece. On the reverse, a screwed-down sapphire exhibition case back is engraved with the details of the watch around its edge, inside an automatic Miyota Cal. 9075, 24 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour. The signed rotor is beautifully decorated in Côte de Genève. Introduced in 2022, it features a ‘True GMT’ complication with an hour hand that can be quickly adjusted independently in hourly increments, perfect for setting home and local time, hand-winding, quick-set date and hacking seconds. It comes paired with its 20mm three-link brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet secured by a signed push-button deployant clasp; all links are provided. Another new one for me, this is the Henry Archer Verden GMT Ad Astra in 39mm, which features a wonderful Aventurine dial. For the money, this is hard to argue with, especially powered by a Miyota, featuring a screw down crown, an easy-adjust clasp and great finishing throughout. If you are in the market for something a little different, this may be the one for you!
