Here we have a 2025 Hamilton Khaki Field Expedition Auto H70225540, featuring a brushed 37mm stainless steel case that curves over your wrist with tapered lugs. Its brushed flanks lead to a lug-to-lug length of 43.5mm and a case thickness of 11mm, ensuring a comfortable fit on your wrist. On the right side, a signed coin-edged screw-down crown. A rotating bezel has knurling for grip and an engraved compass on top, perfect for the intrepid adventurer. The sapphire crystal, AR-coated, sits above a grainy textured matte blue dial. An outer minute track has lume plots at the hour surrounding white Arabic numerals marking the hours, arrow hour hand and syringe minute hand are complemented with an arrow pointed sweeping second hand, at noon we have the Hamilton motif and at 6 o’clock ‘Automatic’, the hands are filled in aged Super-LumiNova for that vintage aesthetic. On the reverse, a screw-down exhibition case back engraved with the details of the watch around its edge, inside an automatic Hamilton Cal. H-10, 25 jewels, beating at 21,600 beats per hour, based on the ETA C07.611 with a signed skeletonised rotor. It comes paired with its 20mm Hamilton leather strap and signed pin buckle. In a pivotal moment for the company, Hamilton became an official supplier to the U.S. Armed Forces in 1914, coinciding with the onset of World War I. This partnership prompted a transition from pocket watches to the more practical wristwatch, which was better suited for military use. In 1926, a significant event unfolded in the annals of aviation history when Admiral Richard E. Byrd achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the first aviator to reach the North Pole. This momentous journey marked a pivotal milestone in both exploration and aviation, as Byrd's daring expedition pushed the boundaries of what was possible in the realm of flight and navigation.
