Description

Here we have a 2025 Bremont Altitude MB Meteor Titanium Automatic 42mm. This exceptional timepiece represents the most advanced evolution of Bremont's iconic Martin-Baker series. The Gloster Meteor, recognised as Britain's first jet fighter, serves as the inspiration for this name. Notably, it was also the aircraft used in Martin-Baker's groundbreaking live ejection test in 1946, marking a significant milestone in aviation safety. The satin-finished 42mm case reintroduces a slimmer, highly refined execution of Bremont's signature three-piece Trip-Tick case construction, meticulously crafted from lightweight and durable Grade 2 titanium. A sleek, knurled black DLC case barrel separates the upper and lower case elements, delivering a modern stealth aesthetic. The sweeping lines yield a lug-to-lug length of 49mm and a versatile case thickness of 12mm, providing an authoritative yet ergonomic presence on the wrist. The case architecture features an intuitive dual-crown system. The crown at 2 o'clock handles winding and time-setting, while the dedicated crown at 4 o'clock operates the upgraded bi-directional Roto-Click inner bezel. Protecting the dial is a contemporary glass box anti-reflective sapphire crystal, sitting above a brushed black galvanic metal dial engineered for absolute legibility. Applied Arabic numerals and indices are generously filled with white Super-LumiNova, radiating a brilliant blue emission in low light. A clean date window rests at 3 o'clock. The dial design is beautifully tied together by a striking "lollipop" sweeping seconds hand, counterbalanced by a stylised white-and-black striped ejection seat pull-cord loop—a direct nod to the brand's aviation heritage. On the reverse, a decorated titanium open-case back showcases the high-performance automatic Bremont Calibre BB14-AH, which utilises 24 jewels and operates at a smooth beat rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz). The movement has been uniquely finished in an executive gunmetal grey with elegant Geneva striping, complete with a custom signed, open-worked rotor. Built to survive extreme environments, the movement features an extended 68-hour power reserve and is suspended inside a flexible rubber mount for advanced shock isolation. Additionally, it maintains vital anti-magnetic shielding via a soft iron ring designed around Faraday cage principles. It also has an integrated quick-release 22mm Bremont brushed Titanium bracelet with a hidden butterfly clasp opened by the Bremont logo; all links are provided. This rugged pilot's watch is sold with its original Bremont presentation box and paperwork.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Chronoswiss box and card. The watch comes paired with its integrated 22.5mm brushed, polished, media-blasted Grade 5 titanium bracelet, which meets the titanium case fluidly for a unified aesthetic. It is secured to the wrist with a matching titanium butterfly clasp; all links are provided. The watch is from May 2025 and is sold in worn condition, but overall, it is in very fair condition, as you can see. The watch comes with our 12-Months Warranty.

Personal Note

It's no secret that Bremont has divided opinion following its recent change in direction. Like many enthusiasts, I wasn't sure what to make of some of the early releases, but this MB Meteor feels much closer to the Bremont that built the brand's reputation in the first place. Everything that made the Martin-Baker series so popular is still here: purposeful engineering, genuine aviation heritage, robust construction, and a design that feels functional rather than overstyled. The lightweight titanium case, clever dual-crown system, and subtle nods to Martin-Baker throughout the dial all come together in a way that feels authentic. I would not hesitate to book an appointment and try this one on for yourself!

About Bremont

Bremont was founded in 2002 by the brothers Nick and Giles English. Their watch designs are inspired by their love of flying and everything mechanical. During the 1990s, while flying their 1930s biplane over France, they got into trouble and had to land in a field. Not wishing to get the authorities involved, they were met by the farm owner, who gave them and the plane shelter; it turned out he had flown during the war and was an engineer. The brothers, grateful to the kind farmer, promised him they would never forget him. His name was Antoine Bremont. In 1995, they were involved in an accident and sadly lost their father, Dr Euan English, while flying their World War II-vintage Harvard aircraft. His loss and their injuries drove the brothers to create a fitting legacy. Moving into their Manufacturing & Technology Centre in 2021. Innovation and producing technologically advanced timepieces have been an ever-expanding experience for Bremont. Their military connections through special-edition watches and tireless work with Help for Heroes and The Royal British Legion mean that their late fathers' legacy will continue to grow. They have a number of investors, including Bill Ackman and Hellcat LP, who have increased their investment since 2023. Nicholas English has remained as Secretary after resigning as Director, while his brother, Giles, resigned as Director in May 2024 and left the company.
