Here we have a 2025 Aera D-1 Diver Black Dial Automatic 300M featuring a 44mm satin-brushed 904L stainless steel case that curves over your wrist with thick flat-ended lugs. Its curved satin-brushed flanks lead to a lug-to-lug length of 49mm and a case thickness of 15mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side, a deep knurled crown. The unidirectional 120-click satin-brushed bezel features deep knurling and a sloping black ceramic dive bezel coated in Super-LumiNova. A domed sapphire crystal sits above a signature matte-black one-piece dish dial. The outer minute track surrounds applied 3D discs and rounded baton indexes of Super-LumiNova, marking the hours. White stylised hands are filled with the same lume and are complemented by a blue-tipped sweeping second hand. At noon, we have the applied Aera motif, and at 6 o’clock, ‘D-1 Automatic 300M’ completes this distinctive dive watch. On the reverse, a screwed-down solid case back, engraved with the watch's details. Inside an automatic Sellita Cal. SW200-1, 26 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour. Aera is a British watch brand that was started in 2022 by two friends, Jas Minhas and Olof Larsson. Jas developed his love of watches from his father, Surjit, who was a jeweller and formerly ran a business called Aero Watch Company in Birmingham. In the 1970s, Surjit became known for distributing many famous watch brands such as Jaeger-LeCoultre, Seiko, Movado, and Citizen. The idea for Aera originated in the 1990s at a party in Sweden. Jas was working for a well-known designer and founder of Ikepod watches, Marc Newson, when he met Olof, who is part of a family that owns Nymans Ur, Sweden's top watch store. After two decades, they decided to launch Aera Watches, combining British design with Swiss craftsmanship.
