The Watch
Here we have a 2024 Tuseno Shellback V2 Blue No-Date Automatic with a 40mm brushed and polished stainless steel case that curves over your wrist with tapered flat-ended lugs, its curved chamfer edge along its flanks lead to a lug-to-lug length of 47mm and a case thickness of 12.5mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side is a signed screw-down crown with knurling for grip. The 120-click unidirectional bezel has a coin-edge for grip and a blue ceramic insert with an etched dive scale. A double-domed sapphire crystal AR coated sits above a vertically brushed blue brass sandwich dial. A white outer minute chapter ring surrounds cut-out rounded baton and disc hour markers above the lower BGW9 Swiss Super-LumiNova section; polished signature Tuseno hands filled with the same lume are complemented by tapered arrow pointed sweeping second hand; at 12 o’clock, we have the Tuseno motif and at 6 o’clock a smiley “Shellback”. On the reverse, there is a screw-down solid case back with the details of the watch engraved around its edge and the Tuseno emblem in the centre, inside an automatic Sellita Cal. SW200, 26 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, this workhorse movement has hacking seconds, quick-set date and hand winding for your convenience. I am blown away by how Tuseno has managed to produce this watch for the price it is and even more blown away by the price this can be snapped up at pre-owned. This is the Tuseno Shellback V2 Blue No-Date in 40mm and is powered by the Sellita SW200, the bracelet is built like a tank and features a glide adjustment, and the dial and bezel are beautifully executed, this watch as an overall package is punching far beyond its price point and gives many bigger Swiss brands a serious run for their money. I would not hesitate to add this to your collection today!
