Description

Here we have a 2024 True North x Wind Vintage Reference VRT III “Pastel”, a limited edition of 300 pieces, a distinctive collaboration with Wind Vintage, a respected dealer and advisory firm specialising in vintage and modern watches. Founded in 2017 by Eric Wind, a leading horology expert, the company is based in Palm Beach, Florida. It is globally renowned for sourcing exceptional, high-quality timepieces and offering specialised advisory services to top-tier watch collectors. Featuring a 37mm stainless steel case with a vibrant, vintage-inspired 50’s and 60’s sport-chronograph aesthetic. Its compact, classic flanks sweep seamlessly into a well-proportioned profile, delivering an incredibly wearable lug-to-lug length of 44mm and a case thickness of 14mm for a charismatic yet balanced presence on the wrist. Embracing its mid-century racing chronograph heritage, the right side of the case features a classic fluted crown flanked by dual traditional pushers. A fixed external bezel with a sleek green insert and a white tachymeter scale frames a highly expressive, multi-toned pastel dial that brings a playful, retro-modern twist to the traditional chronograph layout. A protective, boxed sapphire crystal guards the dial architecture, which utilises a striking contrast of soft pastel hues alongside highly legible sub-dials at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. The balanced dial layout delivers exceptional legibility through its applied indices and luminous baton hands. On the reverse, the solid, precision screw-down case back. Tucked safely inside the robust casing is the high-performance Mechaquartz Seiko Cal. VK63 movement, offering the mechanical-feel flywheel snap-back action of a traditional chronograph paired with the grab-and-go reliability of a modern quartz calibre. Engineered for everyday versatility, the watch comes fitted with its original 20mm Oyster-style stainless steel bracelet, tapering beautifully to a matching signed folding clasp; all links are provided. This watch is sold with its original True North x Wind Vintage presentation box and paperwork.

Personal Note

If you've always loved the look of vintage Rolex Daytonas but fancy something with a little more colour and personality, I think this is a fantastic option. The proportions are spot on at 37mm, and there's something about that classic chronograph layout, contrasting subdials and green tachymeter bezel that just works. Add in those wonderfully playful pastel colours and you've got a watch that feels properly vintage-inspired without taking itself too seriously. I also love that Eric Wind has been involved in the design, as someone who knows vintage watches inside out. And with the dependable mechaquartz movement keeping things affordable and practical, there's an awful lot to like here. Snap up this limited edition for your collection today!

About True North

True North Watch Co., officially known as True North Collections, is an independent American watch brand founded around 2021 in Los Angeles by wildlife photographer Shane Russeck. Russeck established the company with the vision of creating watches that not only endure over time but also develop a unique character through natural wear, scratches, and patina. The timepieces draw heavily on the golden age of sport watches, paying homage to iconic classics like the Rolex Submariner, Daytona, and GMT while reinterpreting these designs with unique proportions, colours, and details. True North designs, hand-finishes, and assembles all its models in its Los Angeles studio.
