Description

Here we have the distinctive 2024 Seiko Prospex Zimbe #19 Thailand SPB443J1 Limited Edition of 500 Pieces. This is the ‘last exclusive’ Zimbe collection to be offered by Seiko Thailand. Featuring a brushed and polished 40.5mm stainless steel ‘62MAS’ case that comfortably sits on your wrist, thanks to the fat-ended drilled lugs. Its curved, polished, chamfered-edged flanks lead to a lug-to-lug length of 47.5mm and a case thickness of 13mm. On the right side, a screw-down coin-edged crown. A coin-edged, polished unidirectional bezel features a metallic blue 60-minute dive insert coated in LumiBrite. The domed sapphire crystal, AR-coated on the inside, sits above an incredible sunburst whale shark-skin patterned blue dial. An outer minute chapter ring surrounds applied baton indexes filled with LumiBrite, marking the hours, at 3 o’clock, a date window. Steel hands filled with LumiBrite are complemented by a blue sweeping second hand. At noon, we have the Seiko motif, and at 6 o’clock, the Prospex logo, ‘Automatic Divers 200m’ completes this exclusive, versatile sports dive watch. On the reverse, a screw-down solid case back, etched with the details and Zimbe #19 Limited number surrounding an embossed Seiko Tsunami in the centre. Inside an automatic Seiko Cal. 6R35, 24 jewels, 21,600 beats per hour. It comes paired with its 20mm brushed 3-link stainless steel bracelet secured by a three-fold flip-lock clasp; all links are provided.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Seiko box, swing tag and paperwork. It comes paired with its 20mm brushed 3-link stainless steel bracelet secured by a three-fold flip-lock clasp; all links are provided. The watch is from August 2024 and is sold in worn but overall it is in very fair condition, as you can see. The watch comes with our 12-Months Warranty.

Personal Note

This is the ‘last exclusive’ Zimbe collection to be offered by Seiko Thailand. Limited to just 500 pieces, this is the Seiko Prospex Zimbe #19, reference SPB443J1, coming in the classic SPB format but with a twist on the dial pattern and the glossy blue bezel. In modern Seiko terms, 500 pieces are very rare, so I would not hesitate to snap this one up whilst you still can!

About Seiko

Seikos history began in 1881 when Kintaro Hattori established the K. Hattori retail and repair store. In 1892, Seikosha was established to make wall clocks. 1895 saw the production of their first pocket watch. 1913 saw the launch of their first wristwatch, the Laurel. In 1924, the first Seiko was manufactured. Daini Seikosha (now Seiko Instruments Inc.) was established in 1937. Seiko was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 1949. The Suwa factory became independent and formed Suwa Seikosha Co., Ltd. (now Seiko Epson Corporation in 1959). In 1956, Seiko launched Marvel as their first true in-house-made watch; they continued to make this watch until 1959. Japan’s first chronograph watch was introduced for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics; it was called the Seiko Crown Chronograph mono-pusher. Not stopping there, Seiko launched Japan's first true divers' watch, the Seiko Diver’s 150M fitted with the automatic Calibre 6217, which was later given the nickname “62MAS” by collectors. The company name was changed to the Seiko Corporation in 1990. Innovation at Seiko continues today with GPS Solar watches.
