The Watch

Here we have a 2024 Erebus Ascent Malachite Dial 39mm Automatic. Erebus’s first Go Anywhere, Do Anything (GADA) versatile sports watch. The 39mm polished and brushed stainless steel case curves over your wrist with tapered lugs, and a lug-to-lug length of 44.5mm and a case thickness of 11mm give the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side is a deeply knurled signed crown sitting slightly recessed to the case. A smooth polished bezel holds a double domed sapphire crystal AR coated above a stunning Malachite dial: Malachite is found in caves and crevices in Congo, Egypt, Russia and Wales. A minute chapter ring surrounds applied multifaceted indexes filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova mark the hours; at 6 o’clock, a framed colour-matched date window, steel hands filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova are complemented by a tapered sweeping second hand, at 12 o’clock we have the Erebus motif and at 6 o’clock “Ascent 10 ATM” complete this dynamic sports watch. On the reverse, there is a screw-down case back with the details of the watch around its edge and the Erebus motif in the centre in relief, inside an automatic Miyota Cal. 9015, 24 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour. It comes paired with its 20mm Oyster style stainless steel bracelet with a milled and micro-adjustable push button folding clasp; all links are provided, and it comes with its Erebus travel case, screw-driver and paperwork.

Personal Note

A Malachite dial for £350... This is where this personal note should end, but it won't. Erebus has gone and made the perfect everyday watch, built like a tank, sized perfectly, glide-adjust on the bracelet and also given the option of stone dials, all for a stupidly low price, I don't know how they have done it. I would snap this one up before I change my mind and keep it!
