The Watch

Here, we have a unique collaboration, 2024 Bravur x Wingårdh Limited Edition 32/50 pieces. Renowned Swedish architect Gert Wingårdh and his talented son, Rasmus Wingårdh, an award-winning designer in his own right, have taken on the exciting challenge of reinterpreting Bravur’s acclaimed Scandinavia model. This collaboration has resulted in a distinctive timepiece that draws its inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes of the Swedish west coast and the ethereal quality of Scandinavian light. The design beautifully reflects the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, combining artistic vision with functional elegance. Each element of the watch is thoughtfully crafted to embody the Swedish environment's essence, making it a stylish accessory and a tribute to the Scandinavian way of life. The 37mm brushed and polished stainless steel case curves over your wrist with tapered lugs. The brushed flanks transition seamlessly with the polished top surfaces, leading to a lug-to-lug length of 43mm and a case thickness of 10.5mm, ensuring a comfortable fit on your wrist. On the right side is an onion-style coin-edged signed crown. The slim, polished, smooth bezel holds a box-shaped sapphire crystal AR coated on the inside for perfect viewing of the distinctive crisp white dial. A thick raised ring has an outer minute track and a 60-minute scale in fine print; uniquely, the number out of 50 is highlighted by a circle at 50 and a black dot at 32 on the minute track. In the centre, an attractive embossed fish scale pattern with the elegant blued syringe hands complemented by a blue sweeping second hand. At 6 o’clock, a round date window with white on black numerals. The Bravur motif “Automatic” sits above “Swedish Soul Swiss Heart”, giving a clever nod to its inspiration. On the reverse, a screwed-down solid case back with a limited number, embossed fish scale pattern and the collaborative details of the watch, inside an automatic Sellita Cal. SW300m, 25 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, it has hand winding, hacking seconds and a quick-set date for your convenience. It comes paired with an 18mm black leather strap with an embossed fish scale pattern and a polished, signed pin buckle. The watch is sold with its Bravur leather travel case and paperwork.

Personal Note

This Bravur x Wingårdh collaboration was something I had never seen before, or even heard of, but wow does this watch pack a punch for its price. The watch also features a great way of displaying the limited edition number, the white circle at 10 o'clock indicates this is a limited edition of 50 watches (50 markers) and the black circle at 32 indicates that this is number 32 of 50. What a great way of displaying something quite simple, but also I can only imagine how expensive this was to do as you'd require each dial to be done individually, very impressive for the price. I would not hesitate to add this watch to your collection today!

The Brand

Bravur, a distinguished watch brand, was established in 2011 by two passionate friends, Johan Sahlin and Magnus Äppelryd. Their journey began on the cycling trails of southern Sweden, where their shared love for racing bicycles sparked a friendship that would lead to creating a unique watchmaking venture. Each Bravur timepiece is meticulously hand-built in a quaint workshop located in the picturesque town of Båstad, Sweden, where skilled artisans combine traditional craftsmanship with modern design. The brand has garnered attention not only for its exquisite craftsmanship but also for its association with notable figures. One such ambassador is Kevin Geniets, an Olympic cyclist from Luxembourg, who embodies the spirit of Bravur through his dedication to excellence in sport. With a commitment to both precision and style, Bravur continues to make its mark in the world of horology.
