Here we have a striking 2024 Autodromo Prototipo Chronograph, Reference BP-003, in Blue. Drawing aesthetic inspiration from vintage racing chronographs of the late 1960s and early 1970s "prototype" era, the 42mm brushed-and-polished tonneau-shaped stainless steel case sits on your wrist like a cushion, with stubby, tapered lugs. A lug-to-lug length of 48mm and a case thickness of 11.5mm ensure a comfortable, streamlined fit on the wrist. Down the right side, we have the recessed hexagonal piston chronograph pushers flanking the central Autodromo hexagonal crown. The flat sapphire crystal sits recessed above a rich, deep blue dial. An outer Tachymeter/Pulsometer scale chapter ring surrounds a crisp minute track highlighted with ⅕ second intervals, perfect for timing that special lap. Applied lumed baton markers map out the hours. Adhering to the clean, dual-register VK-64 layout, the dial features a white 24-hour sub-dial at 3 o’clock and a white 60-minute chronograph register at 9 o’clock, each sitting slightly recessed with a concentric circular pattern and a red hand, while an easy-to-read date window rests unobtrusively at the 6 o'clock position. Slender baton hands are filled with luminous material and complemented by a vibrant red, tapered central chronograph seconds hand. At 12 o’clock, the iconic Autodromo motif and "Prototipo Chronograph" are cleanly printed beneath, completing this modern-classic motorsport aesthetic. On the reverse, a solid screwed-down case back ensures 50 meters of water resistance, sealing in a reliable Quartz Seiko Cal. VK-64 meca-quartz movement. Part of the hybrid mechanical quartz movement line, this calibre uses quartz technology for hyper-accurate timekeeping, paired with a mechanical module to operate the chronograph, giving you the instant snapback of a mechanical stopwatch with quartz precision. The watch comes paired with its original 20mm Autodromo leather racing strap secured by a signed steel pin buckle, and is sold with its original Autodromo presentation box and paperwork.
