The Watch

Taking inspiration from the 1950s Rolex Milgauss, the watch was designed for professionals to be resistant to high magnetic fields, its iconic lightning bolt seconds hand, signifying this, inside was a Faraday soft iron cage that was created and is still used today by Rolex and others. Created at the height of the Nuclear age, a time of significant scientific breakthroughs and achievements. WMT has brought back this iconic watch and here we have a collaboration 2023 WMT x Labeg Sub-Milius Green Label Automatic with a 39.5mm polished and brushed stainless steel case, its lines transition with flowing crisp edges towards the drilled tapered lugs, the 14.5mm thickness and a lug-to-lug length of 46mm give the watch excellent wrist presence. A stainless steel bezel with a black Aluminium insert, hand-drawn 60-minute silver accents marking the scale and a red inverted triangle. Continuing the vintage aesthetic they used a double-domed Acrylic crystal, above a quirky and fun black dial, the dial is drawn by Hong Kong-based Canadian artist Gabriel Lau with disc indexes coated in “aged” Super LumiNova by hand and drawn faceted arrowheads at 12, 3, 6, and 9 mark the hours. The drawn dauphine's hands and the iconic lightning bolt second hand have the same applied lume. At 12 o’clock we have the WMT motif “Preliminary Experiment”, and “Sub-Milius” in red and at 6 o’clock “Watch Experimental Unit Officially Certified” completes this distinctive timepiece. On the reverse, a screw-down case back, inside an automatic Seiko NH35, 24 jewels, 21600 beats per hour. The watch comes paired with a 20mm Stainless steel bracelet with a signed folding clasp, spare links are included and comes with its WMT presentation box, spring bar removal tool and WMT guarantee card.
