2023 Swatch x Omega Moonswatch Mission to Earth

Here we have a 2023 Swatch x Omega Moonswatch Mission to Earth, part of the Bioceramic MoonSwatch collection of 11 planets found in our solar system.  This is the first Omega and Swatch collaboration, incorporating the best elements of the Speedmaster and the modern materials used by Swatch, launched on the 26th of March 2022 to huge fanfare where we saw massive crowds trying to buy the first batch at only a few Swatch boutiques around the world. The 42mm pale green BioCeramic case curves over your wrist with the characteristic Omega twisted lugs. Bioceramic is made of a composition of ceramic and bio-sourced material that is found in castor-plant oil. A lug-to-lug length of 47mm and a case thickness of 13mm ensures a comfortable fit. Down the right side, we have the recessed piston chronograph pushers and a signed push/pull crown in the centre. The fixed bezel has a blue Tachymeter scale with the ubiquitous Dot above the 90 holding a domed crystal with the hidden “S” in the centre,  just like the original Speedmaster, above a blue dial. An outer minute track is precisely executed with SuperLumiNova coated baton indexes marking the hours; at 3 o’clock, a 10-hour register; at 6 o’clock, a continuous seconds register; and finally, at 9 o’clock, a 60-minute register, each white register is slightly recessed with a rich brown hand. Slender sword hands infilled with SuperLumiNova are complemented by a rich brown tapered chronograph hand, at 12 o’clock we have the Omega x Swatch motif and at 9 o’clock “Speedmaster” completes this dynamic celestial-inspired collaboration chronograph. On the reverse, we have the details of the watch pressed into the BioCeramic and an Earth-covered hatch for the battery. The watch comes paired with its 20mm Wristbuddys pale green fitted rubber strap and its original blue coloured 20mm Swatch x Omega Velcro strap. Swatch is a subsidiary of the Swatch Group and was founded in 1983 by Ernst Thomke, Elmar Mock, and Jacques Müller as a direct response to the Quartz crisis during the 1970s and early 1980s.
