Description

Here we have the charismatic 2023 Schofield Beater B4 Japanese Bronze Limited to 29 pieces. The 44mm case is made from Japanese bronze, the previous owner has polished the bronze, the case will naturally patina over time. Its distinctive industrial design adds character and uniqueness to the watch, sloping wide screw-in lugs with a lug-to-lug length of 52.5mm and a thickness of 14.5mm give the watch a unique wrist presence. On the right side, there is a deeply knurled crown with a gold ring, a smooth bezel holding a flat sapphire crystal AR coated above the two-tone navy blue and Indigo blue coloured dial. The navy blue ring has Numerals at 0, 3, 6, and 9 and dagger indexes in between marking the hours, coated in SuperLuminova C3, surrounding an inner minute track. The brushed gold skeletonised hands are filled with lume, and the centre cap has a small indicator which Schofield calls “Sign-of-Life” second hand. At noon, the Schofield motif completes this dynamic, Japanese-infused timepiece. On the reverse, a screwed-down stainless steel case back with the intricate engraved Daruma doll which dates back to the 18th Century, a central character meaning ‘Luck’,  this clever design incorporates a Tokyo drain cover,  stylised cherry blossom and ginkgo (a deciduous tree with fan like leaves), inside an automatic STP Cal. 1-11, 26 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour, this movement was first released in 2012 and has hand winding and hacking for your convenience. It comes paired with two Schofield 24mm straps with its signed pin buckle. This watch is sold with its original Schofield box and Schofield papers.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Schofield box and Schofield papers. It comes paired with two Schofield 24mm straps with its signed pin buckle. The watch is from May 2023 and is sold in worn condition. Overall, however, the watch is in very fair condition, as you can see from the photos. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

Personal Note

Another incredible release from Schofield with this Japanese Bronze B4, limited to just 29 pieces total. The dial is great as we would expect and the case is big and bold, but the star of the show for me is its case back, featuring an intricately engraved Daruma doll which dates back to the 18th Century, a central character meaning ‘Luck’, this clever design incorporates a Tokyo drain cover, stylised cherry blossom and ginkgo. I would not hesitate to add this watch to your collection today!

About Schofield

Giles Ellis made a grand debut of his brand, Schofield, at the Salon QP event held in London back in 2011. The brand's headquarters are located in Sussex, which is a picturesque county situated on the south coast of the UK, just a short distance from Brighton. Ellis, a visionary watchmaker, has been instrumental in reviving British watchmaking, which has gained significant momentum in recent years. His brand, Schofield, reflects his passion for traditional craftsmanship and is highly regarded for its precision, quality, and innovative designs. In the initial models, such as the Signalman GMT PR and its DLC variant, the brand established its identity with a combination of high-quality materials, reliable Swiss movements, and a touch of British flair. The Patinated Bronze Beater B3 demonstrated the brand's willingness to explore unique materials and finishes. In 2024, after maintaining the same core case design for almost 15 years, Schofield surprised the watch world with the Light. This new model represented a significant departure, featuring a smaller 40mm case size while staying true to the brand's commitment to functionality and meticulous construction. The Light offered a fresh interpretation of the classic field watch, incorporating subtle military influences and prioritising wearability. With the introduction of the Light, Schofield indicated its intention to expand its appeal while remaining steadfast to its fundamental principles. The brand continues to innovate, utilising high-grade materials and movements to produce enduring timepieces designed to endure the test of time.
