Description

Here we have a 2023 Isotope Hydrium Alba, produced in collaboration with Scottish Watches, the world's second-largest watch-oriented podcast. The watch is a limited edition of 100 pieces. Its Scottish roots continue in Alba, which is the old Scottish Gaelic for Scotland. Featuring a 40mm micro-blasted stainless tonneau-shaped case that curves over your wrist, thanks to the stubby, flat-ended lugs. Its slightly curved flanks lead to a lug-to-lug length of 48mm and a case thickness of 14.5mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side, a screw-down crown with deep knurling for extra grip. A 120-click unidirectional bezel has deep knurling and a black sterile sapphire insert holding a double-domed sapphire crystal  AR-coated above a striking white enamel dial. A blue minute track is precisely marked with squares marking the hours. In the centre, we have a raised platform with thermally heated blued "isotope "i" hands infilled with Super LumiNova that magically play with the light as you rotate your wrist. At 12 o'clock, we have the Isotope motif, and at 6 o'clock, Hydrium Automatic 1000ft printed in blue. On the reverse, a screwed-down case back with a deeply engraved divers' helmet in the centre. Inside an automatic Swiss Landeron Cal. 24, 25 jewel's, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, the movement is expertly decorated with Côtes de Genève and Perlage. The watch comes fitted on a 22mm quick-release blue FKM tropic-style strap with a micro-blasted stainless steel signed buckle. The watch comes with its Isotope presentation box and paperwork.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Isotope Box and Paperwork. The watch comes paired with its original 22mm quick-release blue FKM tropic-style strap with a micro-blasted stainless steel signed buckle. The watch is from April 2023 and is sold in worn but overall very fair condition, as you can see from the photographs. The watch comes with our 12-Months Warranty.

Personal Note

I have been fortunate enough to have sold a fair few Isotope watches over the years, and they are fantastic, especially for the money. This is the 2023 Isotope Hydrium Alba in collaboration with the Scottish Watches Podcast and limited to just 100 pieces total. Another great design on and off the wrist. I would not hesitate to snap this one up and add it to your collection today!

About Isotope

José and Joana Miranda founded Isotope in 2016. Based in England, their brand name is derived from a scientific name for radioelements with unique half-lives found by radiochemist Frederick Soddy. Its meaning is "coming from the same place" in Greek. The word Isotope was suggested by a close friend of his wife, Dr Margaret Todd, at a dinner party in Glasgow in 1913, and was first published in "Nature" in 1913. He was later awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1921. They produce uniquely designed timepieces using traditional techniques such as enamelling and thermal heating metals.
