The Watch

Here we have a 2023 Furlan Marri Grey Sector Automatic 2145-A part of a trio of automatic watches now available permanently in their collection, rather than offering them in limited numbers. The brushed and high polished 37.5mm stainless steel case curves over your wrist with distinctive “cornes de vache” or cow horn-shaped tapered lugs, and a lug-to-lug length of 46mm and a case thickness of 9.5mm give the watch an impressive wrist presence. The serial number can be found engraved between the bottom lugs. The large crown on the right side has knurling for grip. A stepped smooth polished bezel holds a glass box sapphire crystal with 5 layers of AR coating above a fine-grain textured grey sector dial, a grey outer minute track is precisely executed with Arabic numerals surrounding polished Breguet style 12, 3, 6 and 9 numerals at the cardinal points and grey batons marking the hours. A crosshair centre has elegantly curved polished Furlan Marri hands complemented by a tapered second hand. At 12 o’clock we have the Furlan Marri motif and between the four and five the Ref number. On the reverse a screw-down exhibition case back engraved with the watch details around its edge, inside an automatic La Joux-Perret Cal. G100, 24 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, expertly decorated with Côtes de Genève and blued screws, this quality movement is designed and manufactured by La Joux-Perret in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The watch comes paired with two 20mm straps and a signed pin buckle, and this watch is sold with its original Furlan Marri box and travel case.

Furlan Marri has done a wonderful job of capturing the minds and hearts of watch collectors by producing beautiful watches, inspired by the past and specifically some of the most incredible vintage Patek Philippe watches we all love. This is the "Grey Sector" model, the design is unsurprisingly perfect on and off the wrist and punches well above its price range. I would not hesitate to snap this up and add it to your collection.

Andrea Furlan a Swiss designer and Hamad Al-Marri a passionate watch collector and artist founded Furlan Marri in 2020. They were based in Geneva Switzerland. Andrea worked for various watch brands such as Chopard, Hublot, Sarcar, and HD3. Both were inspired by the designs of the ’30s and 40, especially the Patek Philippe Ref. 1463. Their appreciation of the case maker François Borgel steered them towards their homage watches. Using the Kickstarter platform as their way to bring their watches to the market with heavy advertising on Instagram. After this successful Kick Starter project, they now have a full website where you can purchase their watches.
