The curvaceous 39mm brushed 316L stainless steel case gently curves over your wrist with finely tapered drilled lugs, and a 47mm lug-to-lug length and a case thickness of 13mm ensure a comfortable fit. We have polished piston chronograph pushers down the right side and a large coin-edged crown in the centre. The polished smooth bezel holds a high domed sapphire crystal AR coated above a striking sector-style dial. An outer minute track is precisely executed, surrounding a black ring with orange numerals marking the hours; at 3 o’clock, a 30-minute register and at 9 o’clock, a small seconds register; each silver register has a concentric circular pattern, black markings and a black hand, elegant black outlined syringe style hands are filled with lume and complimented a fine chronograph hand, at 12 o’clock Excelsior Park motif completing this vintage-inspired bi-compax sports chronograph. On the reverse, a solid screw-down case back engraved with the details of the watch, inside a manually wound Sellita SW 510 M, 23 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour, this cam-style chronograph has hacking seconds and quick-set date for your convenience. The Brand
Jules-Frederic Jeanneret established his company in 1866, positioning it as a prominent player in the production of stopwatches and chronographs. In 1888, his three sons assumed control of the family business. A significant milestone occurred in 1891 when Jeanneret patented the pocket watch chronograph developed in partnership with Alfred Lugrin. The company underwent a change in name in 1894, becoming Jeanneret Brothers & Co. (also known as Jeanneret-Brehm and Co.), and shifted its focus toward the development of sporty watches. By 1915, the brand Excelsior was introduced for their repeater and chronograph watches, and in 1918, the name evolved to Les Fils de Jeanneret-Brehm, Excelsior Park. By 1928, the company emerged as one of Switzerland's leading manufacturers of chronometers and chronographs, recognised for its precision. During this period, Excelsior Park supplied chronograph movements to renowned brands such as Gallet, Zenith, and Girard-Perregaux. Excelsior Park continued to produce chronographs and chronometers until the 1970s, with leadership remaining within the Jeanneret family. However, the company could not survive the challenges posed by the quartz crisis and ultimately went bankrupt in 1984, marking the end of an era. In 1986, a German company named Fume acquired the rights to the Excelsior Park brand in a bid to revive it. They produced a limited number of chronographs bearing the Excelsior Park name, aiming to honour the original company's legacy.
