Description

Here we have a 2023 Citizen Promaster Diver 200m Orange Dial 44mm BN0169-03X, featuring a bold 44mm stainless-steel case that embodies the spirit of the professional dive collection, first launched in 1989. This "Sunset Orange" edition is a modern evolution of the classic Promaster design, meeting strict ISO 6425 standards for professional diving. The watch is built for serious underwater utility while offering a vibrant, high-energy aesthetic that stands out on land or at sea. The lug-to-lug of 49mm and a case thickness of 11.5mm ensure a surprisingly slim profile for a 200m-rated diver, allowing it to sit comfortably against the wrist. At the 4 o’clock position, a screw-down crown is recessed into the case to prevent it from digging into the hand during activity. This crown allows for precise time setting and manual adjustment of the date window. A unidirectional rotating bezel with a deep blue aluminium insert frames the anti-reflective mineral crystal. The striking orange "sunburst" dial transitions into a gradient "fume" effect, creating a dynamic look that mimics an orange slice. It is set with oversized, lume-filled circular indexes and a black-rimmed hour hand paired with a vibrant purple bordered minute hand for instant legibility. At the 4 o'clock position, a date window is discreetly integrated into the dial layout. On the reverse, a solid screw-down case back protects the movement and bears the Promaster logo and serial number. Inside is the Citizen Eco-Drive Cal. E168, a light-powered quartz movement that converts any light source into energy, eliminating the need for battery replacements. Once fully charged, it boasts a 6-month power reserve and an insufficient-charge warning. The watch comes fitted with a durable 20mm blue polyurethane accordion-style strap featuring a stainless steel pin buckle.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Citizen box and paperwork. The watch comes fitted with a durable 20mm blue polyurethane accordion-style strap featuring a stainless steel pin buckle. The watch is from Circa. 2023 and is in worn condition, but overall it is in very fair condition, as you can see. The watch comes with our 12-Month Warranty.

Personal Note

This is, for me, one of the strongest value-for-money divers in the entire Citizen lineup. The Eco-Drive system alone makes it almost effortless to live with, but what really sells it is the dial and bezel combination. That orange and blue pairing is my favourite from this series, it just works perfectly, especially in person, where the dial has much more depth and energy than photos tend to show. For a full ISO-rated 200m diver with this level of practicality and finishing, it’s hard to argue with what you’re getting here. Add it to your collection today!

About Citizen

Citizen founded the Shokosha Watch Research Institute in 1918. The name originates from a pocket watch it produced in 1924. The Mayor of Tokyo, Mr Shimpei Goto, named the watch "CITIZEN" in the hopes that the watch would become a worldwide success. In 1930, the name Citizen Watch Company was introduced. In 1959, Citizen launched Japan’s first fully waterproof watch, the Parawater. During the “quartz crisis,” they developed the Eco-Drive movement in 1976. This was one of the first solar-powered watches on the market. Continuing to innovate and expand its reach in 1993, Citizen introduced the world’s first multi-band atomic watch. It uses Atomic clocks around the world to synchronise to within two nanoseconds per day. Citizen makes the cases, the dial, the hands, and the movement in their Iida factory in Japan. Today, the Citizen Group owns brands such as Alpina and Arnold & Son.
