Description

Here, we have a collaboration between the 2022 Nivada x Worn & Wound Datomaster VK64 LE, a reimagined and inspired Datomaster first introduced in the 1960s, as the Datamaster reference number 4368. The watch features a 36mm polished and brushed round stainless steel case that curves over your wrist thanks to the tapered, drilled, flat-ended lugs. Its curved brushed flanks lead to a lug-to-lug length of 43.5mm and a case thickness of 12mm, ensuring a comfortable fit. On the right side, we have polished piston chronograph pushers and a signed crown in the centre, with knurling for grip. The thin, polished, and smooth bezel holds a domed K1 mineral crystal above a striking fog-grey bi-compax dial. A black outer minute chapter ring in khaki and red baton markers for hours tipped with lume;  at 3 o’clock we have a 24-hour register ringed in black and a deep mustard with a cyan stick hand; at 6 o’clock we have a date window and finally at 9 o’clock a running seconds with a cyan stick hand, slender red outlined hands are filled with lume and complemented by a tapered cyan coloured chronograph hand. At noon, we have the Nivada motif and at 6 o’clock, a red “Datomaster”. On the reverse, a screw-down solid case back engraved with the details of the watch around its edge and the Nivada and Worn and Wound logos in the centre. Inside a MecaQuartz Seiko VK64, which is both mechanical and battery-driven, giving the chronograph a satisfying mechanical reset. It comes paired with its 20mm leather strap and signed pin buckle. The watch comes with its Nivada X Worn and Wound presentation box, swing tag and paperwork.

About Nivada

Nivada is a Swiss watch company that was founded in the town of Grenchen, Switzerland, in 1879. They saw success after World War II, producing a series of watches. Nivada was unable to sell under its own name in the United States after facing a threat of a name-similarity lawsuit from Movado. They decided to use "Croton" or "Nivada Grenchen" in the US market instead. In 2018, two entrepreneurs in the watchmaking industry, Guillaume Laidet and Rémi Chabrat, decided to revive the NIVADA brand with its original legacy.
