2022 Massena LAB Geometer Limited Edition Chronograph

Here we have a 2022 Massena LAB Geometer Chronograph, a timed-limited Edition of 99 pieces, released exclusively to the Massena Lab community and was quickly sold out. A contemporary reissue of a “Pre-Speedy” Geometer chronograph made by Rodania in 1954, three years before the Speedy was released, yet it bears an uncanny resemblance to it, recently one was offered at Christie's and reached a staggering $20k. The 39mm brushed and polished stainless steel case sits comfortably on your wrist with angled flat-ended tapered lugs, and a lug-to-lug length of 45.5mm and a case thickness of 13mm giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. Down the right side, we have the piston-style chronograph pushers and a signed crown in the centre. A smooth polished bezel holds a domed acrylic crystal with an anti-scratch treatment and a stylised “M” logo engraved in the centre, above a tropical chocolate brown dial for that vintage aesthetic. An outer minute track is precisely executed with large baton indexes coated in cream Super-LumiNova marking the hours, at 3 o’clock a 30-minute register, at 6 o’clock a 12-hour register and finally at 9 o’clock the continuous seconds register, each slightly recessed with concentric circular pattern and tapered steel hand, elegant Dauphine hands filled with cream Super-LumiNova are complemented by a tapered steel chronograph hand. At 12 o’clock we have the Massena motif with “Geometer” underneath completing this vintage-inspired and sympathetically reimagined chronograph. On the reverse, a screw-down case back with an engine turned centre, inside a manually wound Sellita SW510 M Elaboré, 23 jewels, beating at 28,800 beats per hour. The watch comes paired with its 20mm Massena leather strap with a signed pin buckle, and the watch comes with its Massena LAB presentation box and papers.
