Description

Here we have a 2022 Furlan Marri Black Sector Automatic 2116-A, part of the highly acclaimed inaugural trio of automatic watches that marked a permanent expansion of the brand's collection. The brushed and high-polished 37.5mm stainless steel case curves over your wrist with distinctive “cornes de vache,” or cow-horn-shaped, tapered lugs, and a lug-to-lug length of 46mm and a case thickness of 9.5mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. The serial number can be found engraved between the bottom lugs. The large crown on the right side has knurling for grip. A stepped smooth polished bezel holds a glass box sapphire crystal with 5 layers of AR coating above a striking fine-grain textured black sector dial; a dark grey outer minute track is precisely executed with white Arabic numerals surrounding polished Breguet-style 12, 3, 6, and 9 numerals at the cardinal points and crisp batons marking the hours. A crosshair centre has elegantly curved polished Furlan Marri hands, complemented by a tapered second hand. At 12 o’clock, we have the Furlan Marri motif, and between four and five, the Ref number. On the reverse, a screw-down exhibition case back is engraved with the watch details around its edge, inside of which beats the automatic La Joux-Perret Cal. G100, featuring 24 jewels and beating at 28,800 beats per hour. This quality movement boasts an impressive power reserve and is expertly decorated with Côtes de Genève and blued screws, designed and manufactured by La Joux-Perret in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The watch comes with two 20mm straps and a signed pin buckle, and is sold with its original Furlan Marri box, travel case and paperwork.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Furlan Marri box, travel case, and paperwork. It comes paired with two 20mm straps and signed pin buckles; one is unworn. The watch is from Circa 2022 and is sold in worn condition, but overall in very fair condition, as you can see from the photographs. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

Personal Note

What I love about Furlan Marri is that they're not trying to reinvent the wheel with models like this; they're taking some of the very best design cues from the golden age of watchmaking and presenting them in a thoroughly modern package. The result is a watch that feels familiar, yet completely fresh. The attention to detail is remarkable for the money. From the beautifully executed sector dial and elegant case proportions to the excellent La Joux-Perret movement, it consistently punches well above its price tag. It's the sort of watch that makes you question why you'd spend significantly more elsewhere. For collectors who appreciate vintage-inspired design but want modern reliability and finishing, this is an incredibly compelling choice. Add this to your collection today!

About Furlan Marri

Andrea Furlan, a Swiss designer, and Hamad Al-Marri, a passionate watch collector and artist, founded Furlan Marri in 2020. They were based in Geneva, Switzerland. Andrea worked for various watch brands such as Chopard, Hublot, Sarcar, and HD3. Both were inspired by the designs of the ’30s and 40, especially the Patek Philippe Ref. 1463. Their appreciation of the case maker François Borgel steered them towards their homage watches. Using the Kickstarter platform as their way to bring their watches to the market, with heavy advertising on Instagram. After this successful Kickstarter project, they now have a full website where you can purchase their watches.
