Description

Here we have a 2022 Elliot Brown Beachmaster Nivo GMT, Reference 0H0-623-R51G, featuring a 41mm sandblasted gunmetal grey PVD-coated stainless steel case with a rugged, matte utilitarian aesthetic. Its flat flanks sweep seamlessly into its robust proportions, yielding a comfortable lug-to-lug length of 50mm and a case thickness of 13mm for a prominent but balanced presence on the wrist. Embracing its advanced mission-timing lineage, the right side of the case features dual custom hobnail-knurled, screw-down crowns at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock, which actuate the watch's specialised internal mechanisms. A bidirectional, 120-click external bezel frames a highly complex, patented split-scale inner mission-timing bezel that uses a tactile click-lock ceramic ball-bearing mechanism to count down and count up from "H-Hour". A protective, domed 3mm-thick, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an internal anti-reflective coating guards the signature NIVO (Night Invisible Varnish Orfordness) matte black dial, featuring a subtle "amphibious assault" wave graphic at its centre. The dial layout uses a dual-colour mix of high-grade X1 C3 and BGW9 Super-LumiNova graphics, delivering strong low-light clarity across its bold baton indices and prominent Arabic numerals at the cardinal points. Polished sword hands tell the local time, while a distinctive double-arrow GMT hand tracks a secondary time zone via the inner 24-hour scale. On the reverse, the solid, precision bolted-down case back compressively seals the internal architecture, featuring the deep-stamped Beachmaster wordmark and the official NATO amphibious assault spatial symbol. Tucked safely inside an internal movement shock protection cell is the high-performance Swiss Quartz Ronda Cal. 515.24H movement, offering robust reliability and an independently adjustable 24-hour GMT function. Engineered for extreme environments, the watch is individually tested to 300 metres of water resistance and comes fitted on its original 22mm black textured rubber diver strap, secured by a matching gunmetal grey PVD-coated double-fold deployment buckle. This watch is sold with its original Elliot Brown Box and Papers.

Personal Note

If you ever needed a watch for the end of the world, I reckon this Elliot Brown Beachmaster would be pretty high up the list. It's built like an absolute tank, and it certainly looks the part too. The gunmetal grey case, chunky crowns and wonderfully purposeful dial give it a proper military feel, but there's some seriously clever engineering behind all that ruggedness. The mission-timing system is particularly cool, and with a dependable Swiss quartz movement, GMT function and 300 metres of water resistance, it's about as practical as they come. I love watches like this that are designed with a genuine purpose in mind. No unnecessary fuss, just a seriously capable bit of kit that's ready for pretty much anything you throw at it. Add it to your collection today!
