Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original DOXA Box and paperwork. The watch comes paired with its original 20mm Stainless steel “beads of rice” bracelet with its DOXA-signed Folding clasp. The watch is from June 2022 and is sold in worn condition, but overall very good and hardly worn as you can see. The watch comes with its Manufacturer's Warranty.

The Watch

Here we have a 2022 Doxa SUB 300T Professional Orange 840.10.351.10 with a 42.5mm C-shaped stainless steel case that sits on the wrist like a cushion, it was designed and developed by Urs Eschle who was the product manager for the original Doxa Sub and Jacques Cousteau who adopted it in his Aqua lung range, with polished sides and brushed top surfaces transition with crisp edges towards the stubby lugs. A lug-to-lug length of 44mm and a case thickness of 13.5mm gives the watch an impressive wrist presence, at 3 o’clock a screw-down crown that fits recessed into the side of the case for protection, on the left side, a recessed Helium escape valve was first used by DOXA in 1969 on their SUB 300T Conquistador. The patented unidirectional bezel has the U.S. Navy no decompression scales, with an outer depth scale in orange numerals and the 60-minute scale in black numerals, to allow divers to gauge how much air was left in their tanks. The boxed sapphire crystal AR coated sits above the vibrant orange cross-hair dial, large double baton indexes with Super‑LumiNova down their centres mark the hours, at 3 o’clock a framed date window, a small black hour hand with a larger black minute hand is complemented by a black second hand with a lume-filled square counterweight. This colour combination is highly visible when diving, a crosshair on the dial has text on the upper left side with “DOXA” and “automatic” printed, and on the lower right side, “SUB 300T'' and “Professional”. On the reverse, a screw-down case back with the DOXA motif in bas-relief in the centre, inside an automatic Sellita SW200, 26 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour. The watch comes fitted on a 20mm stainless steel “beads of rice” bracelet with brushed and polished finishing, secured with screws and has a folding signed clasp with a dive extension the watch also comes with its Doxa presentation box and paperwork.

Personal Note

We have been purchasing a lot of Doxa's as of late and I'm keen to continue buying more, they offer insane value for money at their retail prices, so once they become pre-owned like this one, it just becomes hard to ignore when considering your next dive watch! The clasp on this one is built like a tank, as is the entire watch, so if you want a professional dive watch for a very fair price, look no further!

The Brand

Doxa was established in 1889 in Le Locle Switzerland by Georges Ducommun. In 1921 Doxa became the supplier of dash clocks to Bugatti. In 1925 Georges became the vice president of the Swiss Horology Society. 1936 saw Georges' passing and the company was now in the hands of son-in-law Jaques Nardin the grandson of Ulysse Nardin. In 1944 the company was renamed “Manufacture des Montre DOXA”. The company was finally sold in 1997 to the Jenny family, transferring their headquarters to Bienne Switzerland.
